The First location that I went to, the vanI rented wasn't there. The service person at the store was rude. Called U-Haul directly, U-Haul's Customer Service person was awesome. Got to the Meriden, CT location and the on-site person there was great, couldn't be better, I would drive the extra distance again just to use this location based on my experience.

Harry S.I asked for a discount considering how dirty the vehicle was and was told "no, not even I get a discount." I spent 30 minutes cleaning the vehicle and wiping the interior down because of how disgusting it was.
Ahmad K.When reserving the truck confirmed location of 200 Church Street in Wallingford, completed the check in and referenced emails and dashboard confirmations for locations and what truck was to be picked up. Once arrived at the station, no truck could be found and go back into dashboard to see location had been moved and now 15 minutes further and +15-20 more miles added to trip in total. Check in once at location was seamless, customer service personnel was kind and receptive. Once returning the vehicle, contract wanted to charge extra day to vehicle due to ~15 minute difference in end time drop off. Thankfully for customer service rep, it was removed, but had he not been on his game, UHaul would have charged me for extra time that was due to their incompetence. Gross business practice and hope to never have to deal with their slimy/gross negligence business again.

MOHAMED C.My only recommendation is to reduce the steps to check the vehicle back in. The fees to rent the vehicle $19.95 vehicle vs. what you actually pay $81 should be made clearer up front (people are on a budget). Miguel was very helpful!

Spent approximately 20 minutes getting checked in because apparently computers weren't working. Had to go to a different location to speak with the manager which she helped me and took care of the issues at return.

The key for ignition needed to be wiggled to get it to turn. I asked the guy if uhaul would take this into consideration and not have me put the $9.00 gas in, but he could not.
TAMMY C.Please have enough staff to handle the expected customer base. The one person working busted his butt to handle the customer load, and was extremely helpful with everyone. But there is only so much one person can do, especially with a projected hurricane forecast, and everyone wanting their propane tank filled, NOT the main business for a U-Haul truck rental business, I'd think.
KIM M.Make it more clear that mileage must be recorded by taking a picture of the odometer before returning the keys in the slot after hours. I returned the keys before snapping a picture of the odometer and had to guess at the mileage I drove.

I rented a 19.95 truck for one day and it cost me $125+. I am furious and I feel I was robbed by uhaul. I'm reporting you to the BBB and the states AG.
