She thoroughly explained when payments where due, the location of the storage and provided a lock for me. Moving out was just as simple and returned her lock as she requested. If I need them I’d definitely consider this location.

My card didn't work it was programmed wrong, I had to make a trip back to fix it and wait for a staff member to come to the location and help me enter. It was a horrible experience. Nothing was explained to me and it was almost as if it was a problem that I needed a storage unit.

caryn m | Overall ExperienceThe only complaint I have is that I was flagged for the truck being returned late, but the store knew that the truck was on their property from 3 pm on the Oct 9 th... Both of the office personnel knew that we were unloading the truck and told us to drop it off before 6 am in the morning and they would make a note on the account, which they did not... Because of it when I needed an extra smaller storage unit I wasn't able to get one online even though I called, I was told that I had no choice but to stay where I was and wait till the store opened.. I was in the Flint store location three times on the 9th and even tried to pay for the truck rental and unload it... it's very inconvenient for me when I am a caregiver to several elderly people who are two hours away and I am told I have to wait until morning for something that wasn't done when I asked for it to be done in the first place.... Otherwise I was very happy with everything else...

Stop misusing power it does the company no justice. July 21, 2023 she still tried to be disrespectful after I contacted her chain of command to let me finish getting my things due to last agreement not being met. So no I do not recommend the uhual on Miller Rd in flint Michigan, also Daryl was part of the nicer conducting staff. Before moving out I had no problems with Barbara she was understanding and took the time to listen to each customer.

Meghann R | First ImpressionsIn a year and a half of having a storage unit I didn't really have to talk to many people but every time I talk to anyone they were incredibly friendly and Incredibly helpful. You could tell they really cared about what they did and especially making the customers feel comfortable and happy with their services. Moving out of my storage unit had nothing to do with anything other than I was able to make room at home. If I ever need another unit in the future bigger or smaller I will definitely go there.

The staff was extremely rude and the general manager Melissa Pearl was very unprofessional and hung up on me when I finally was able to get ahold of her with my concerns. Multiple phone calls went unanswered by Melissa Pearl until that point. People are breaking in to that storage building and my expensive vacuum came up missing after I had complained about the bug infestation. I've rented a few storage units and this was the worst experience with storage I've ever had. Disgusting place with very horrible employees. Never will I use UHAUL for any needs base off this experience.

Jacqueline D | First ImpressionsMelissa told me I would be able to use a truck for 24 hours. An employee said that was not the case on 10/1/2022 when he called and demanded I return the vehicle immediately, at noon, despite me telling him what Melissa said. He did swap me out for a smaller truck, but that unexpected change meant I had to leave my deep freezer behind in the storage I said I was moving out of. I also lost a large 300$ blue s curved wooden stand I loved because the smaller truck had no ramp. Since my help never showed, I was moving everything on my own. The stand weighs well over a hundred pounds and took two men to move from the 15 foot van to the ten foot van. In my hurry to return the 15 foot van I put too much gas in, and had to turn around and gas up a second truck. The guy was very cold and rude. I did not have the money to afford mileage to make another trip to get the freezer cuz I still had to get stuff to clean the house. Everyone else was wonderful. The storage facility was clean, well lit and I felt safe loading and unloading stuff alone.

I call the number on the board in the facility and they said that they are not affiliated with UHaul at all. I did not pay for this considering it was a free month but I was excited to try it out for the month. But nevermind.

As far as rating the way they keep the walkway and where you walk to go into and out of the storage I would give them a zero the snow was not cleared from the entranceand the large door needed to go into and out of has been broken and you have to use the smaller door and that made it hard to remove items out of the building? If someone falls because of them not keeping their walkway cleared that would cause problems. Thanks UHAUL for a good place to store your goodies.

I had paid and they never took the locks off so that I could get my thing out. This happened 4 different times. Although the manngers were very helpful and did their best to fix the issue. I live 4 hours away so it's very inconvenient when I drove all that way just to not be able to get to my things. Thankful for the managers though.

denise l | Overall ExperienceFirst, the reserved space was NOT available even though I booked over a month ahead. Ended up renting TWO smaller rooms. Could NEVER get through by phone to a real person at the office for help - always re-directed to a national number with no knowledge of my local situation. When I showed up at the office the people were nice and helpful, but I spent a lot of time making unnecessary trips over there because they didn't answer the phone. Twice the big bay doors were not unlocked when I needed them open (including move-out) and I had to drive up the street a mile to the main office (since they didn't answer the phone) to get them open - very unhelpful when you're paying movers by the hour! Place was very clean and staff very helpful when you could find them, but really - answer your phone! Or let people leave a message at the local office instead of getting transferred to someone who can't help with a local problem

I've called 2 different uhaul customer service numbers with no answers. Called the storage facility multiple times during business hours and no one answers. Not sure how you are supposed to get anything fixed when you can't reach anyone.

It was extremely frustrating and I didn’t get done moving my mom things till late in the morning. I was very upset and when I got there I had to call the police because someone was sleeping in their storage unit and I was scared to walk down the hall feeling very unsafe. This has been the worst experience I’ve ever had.

R36 needs to be placed on new hinges or something, it’s hanging low and is difficult to lock/unlock. Also please tell the central DC location at 2215 5th st. NW to clear out their truck area. It was impossible to leave the 10’ truck I rented it and they had trucks in the fire lane for what would be a fire precaution for their storage building. Thank you for everything!

Jose D | Overall ExperienceI had two storage units one at the Miller Rd and Ballenger location and one at the Miller Rd and Lennon location. I'll start with the Miller Rd and Lennon location first. Initially everything was fine, then the main office moved. This location sits right next to a run down motel that caters to a criminal element of the Flint. I didn't feel safe. Around September or October 2020 I visited my storage unit and encountered a real foul smell in the back entrance hallway. The smell was emanating from a unit two door down. I looked in my storage unit and found mouse droppings from front to back. I had no food or perishable items in my unit. I went to the front office and spoke to the lady in the office to report it. I was really angry! I decided to move. The second unit I rented was at the Lennon/Miller road location. That location was nicer, but always busy. You would have to stand in line for about 10-15 minutes to speak to someone. I didn't find the staff friendly or professional- dropping f-bombs, or repeatedly answering your question with the same phrase, "we don't have it." I would call the customer service number and the agent would promise to send the store a message to correct an issue and then... nothing would happen. I have utilized the Uhaul facilities off and on since 2009 (e.g., three different cities). I moved to another city and decide on a different to try a different storage vendor.

The owner in Birch Run is a straight moron and has no clue how to treat customers. He also lets his employees treat customers like trash. When called out on their nasty piss poor attitudes, I was told to leave and take my truck with me. SMH Really, its Uhauls truck but hey why not. That location has TONS of negative comments and complaints about owner and employees. BEWARE!!
Lisa SStaff seemed as if they didn’t like working there. My storage unit was padlocked and I couldn’t move in. When I went back to the staff counter the clerk called for assistance but questioned whether the unit had a padlock on it or not. I suggested to her that doing that in front of the customer suggested the customer was lying. She called me rude, then her male voice worker chimed in to call me rude as well.

Marcus D | Overall ExperienceReservations for 17 trucks made 6 months in advance for a large festival (fifth year in a row) were not honored. Rented small trucks, we were told 24 hours out I was getting 26 footers, which would not fit in most of our locations. I asked why the reservation said the were several small trucks still in the reservation I was told "You didn't have ANY trucks this morning." Reworked the entire plan to accommodate larger trucks, picked up the trucks the next day and there were 8 smaller trucks. This caused a bigger problem because we had staged our supplies anticipating all 26 foot trucks. After five years of renting 15 or more trucks, as others throughout the year, it was unbelievable to be told that because we wanted to store supplies (for one of the largest road races in the Midwest) they could not let us have the trucks we ordered "to just sit around with water in them". Flint, Michigan is experiencing a water crisis that is known worldwide, it's unfortunate U-Haul was unwilling to accommodate our attempt to provide exceptional customer service to our runners.

Michaelrudolph MBad customer service. Had to talk to a “Allison” who was rude greeting and talk to and was rude when asked to explain the rental process. She was there when I returned the keys and the vehicle and she was just very short in her conversation.
