I only use it for a day or two. Just moved from Pittsburgh to Virginia. When I made reservations for the unit l , didnt know how far it was from where I was moving to, about 6 miles So I needed one closer, and found one 2 miles away, knowing I would be going in and out of it a lot. But I really appreciated the helpfulness of your staff during this stressful time in Pittsburgh and Virginia. Thank you U haul.

REBECCAANN W | Overall ExperienceI was dissatisfied with the infestation of mice and how it was handled when I spoke to staff about it. Staff immediately went to my storage and picked up the mouse, that I told them I had put outside of the storage unit, that was in a box that the mouse chewed a hole through. Staff told me to call insurance about the infestation.!I called the insurance company that I was paying for through U-Haul. They said something needed to be damaged. For me to be compensated. So, nothing was done about it. Other than that, staff were very friendly and helpful during my move out process.

Saying my storage wasn't secured I traveled there it was locked. 2.3/1 there was a note for non payment to which I get automatic payments deducted and someone had to open it as I was moving out.3. After zi emptied my storage there was an attempt to charge the monthly fee.

I received gate and facility access codes, but the location required neither although it sits in close proximity to several highways. The staff was desponsive to questions but they are remote from the facility itself.

I was a little upset over that since you should not offer if your not going to deliver. 8 paid $150 for a week and now I move out of it and I am sure you had some one rent it out immediately since it was clean. You made alot of money on my unit when you could give back some money to a disabled person!

Was military coming from out of town looking for something close to our house but didn’t get to see the units prior. Would not recommend to anyone with any property that actually care about.

It was not secured you can just go in with out using a code. The box that you post to enter your code never worked.

Another gentleman there was complaining that he turned in his truck in one day and was charged for 2. Turns out another error on their part. Not a great look U-haul. Luckily the associate helped me in giving me free storage as I am doing long distance one way . The storage allocating also need to be automated so that we should be able to get the storage any time . I went to uhaul office on Friday to secure my storage . They said once you get uhaul here then only they can allocate the storage . Already we drove 150 miles. Going to uhaul office and again going to self storage In the heavy rain is hard

I went to get an item out of the unit only to be locked out due to non payment. The agent didn’t open the screen to see i had a 2nd unit which needed pmt. Sylvia B | Overall ExperienceI rented my unit online because I needed to move after hours and wouldn’t have time to visit a store before they closed because I was at work. I tried 3 times to get in the unit ranging from 11pm to 2am. The door was stuck and had no way for me to get in the unit or attach a lock to it once in. The unit had NO lock on the door and nothing attaching to the frame so I could lock it IF it would have opened for me to get inside. After our last attempt I decided to just call for assistance. This is where the TRUE nightmare begin. I called the first time reach a lady who was nonchalant about the situation and told me head down to my unit someone would let me in. It was probably stuck and that I just neeeded “help” getting inside. I waited for about 10 min called again reached thhr same person got placed on hold because they were busy and she had customers in front of her. I sat on hold for over 10 min hung up then called back and reached a man. Shared the same info and was placed on hold. From this time I was upset and running out of time and drove to the facility at 6101 midlothian. I walked in the store and admittedly there was a line but I asked them out loud where was the assistance for an existing customer explained my situation and was told “ we see you called but we are busy. Nothing against you but right now we are busy.” I was very upset in the tone along with the disregard for my situation so I took a moment to step outside get myself together. I am a customer service manager so customer service is important to me and the level of service I was receiving was infuriating, albeit the situation I didn’t want to be nasty or cause a scene I just needed help. I came back in waited in line and the same lady (Tracy) walked past me and said “sorry it’s not you we are just busy and my supervisor isn’t here to let you in the unit. It will be about 11:00/11:30 ish” I explained to her that I had to have my family out of the location we were in before 11:30 and at that point I had a car full of items and could not move anyone anywhere and asked to be moved to a new unit. She said no sorry you can’t do that. I explained that I didn’t have any choice at this point and I couldn’t wait for someone to show up at this point I had no faith in uhaul staff to have any sense of urgency or ability to fix this Situation by doing what was right. She walked away after I explained that she couldn’t tell me I couldn’t rent a new unit, that it didn’t make sense to tell me that wasn’t an option. There was a complete unwillingness to do anything to assist with this error from Tracy. All this happened while I was in line and finally I was called to by some man sitting at the end. When I sat down I said I needed to cancel an old reservation and start a new one. Without hesitation he said ok so you need to do a transfer, imagine my surprise being offered a solution with a named process to something Tracy just told me wasn’t even an option. As I’m sitting down getting help moving into another unit the guy explains that they recently painted and it may have been stuck or the locks not applied back on the frame( I showed him a picture of the door with no lock option). Tracy walks over and advises her manager said to move me into 29A and credit one months rent and smiles at me as if she’s done something at this point. I thanked her and him and left. Truthfully had there been more time available I would have left and found a new unit elsewhere. I actually cried from frustration over this entire experience during this process. I was never rude or unprofessional at one point and I was met with contempt up until my last interaction. I was so pleased with the rental of my trailer two days prior I even tipped the guy who helped in attaching it to my truck. This experience was so far from that and I will NEVER return to this location and suggest anyone else looking to stay far away as well.

I was placed on hold to speak with staff for long periods, I think upstaffing would solve this problem. I do miss having staff on site, it would improve security and resolve communication issues.
