Communication on all sides. We asked multiple times to have our location and information noted in advance, only to be told later that "no information was in the system for that." Our stuff arrived unexpectedly, which was a nice surprise, but the boxes couldn't be delivered for another 5 days which we were charged a storage fee for. The day of delivery the boxes didn't arrive in time for our movers to complete the job that personally cost me time and money to cancel plans I had to be around the following day instead, which we communicated to uhaul prior to delivery about the timeframe we needed for our movers to complete the job. In summary, no notes, little communication, get everything you can in writing. Our stuff arrived, so uhaul did their job, but I won't be using uhaul for any future moves given the stress and hassle of picking up the slack on coordination and communication, which I trusted uhaul to handle.Violet D.

I moved across the country with a single UBox, which I loaded on one end and had moving helpers unload on the other end. Firstly, the box did arrive at the location in good time and without damage to my belongings. That is where my positive review ends. UHaul was a nightmare to work with. They changed my delivery dates several times, forcing me to reschedule my movers repeatedly. Even though I booked the movers through UHaul, I had to reschedule everything myself. The movers were thankfully very understanding, but they were a third party contractor so UHaul does not get credit for that. UHaul did not process my shipping fee for almost two weeks, so the day that I was moving I was on hold for hours trying to get someone to remove the hold from my account so that my movers could pick up my box. When they were finally permitted to pick it up they had to wait around for two hours because the location the Box was at had not brought it from the warehouse or loaded it onto a trailer yet even though they had told me it was ready to go. Overall, I counted it up, I was on hold or on the phone with UHaul trying to solve various unnecessary problems for about 20 hours over the course of this move. Nightmare. Won't use them again. Even my moving helpers told me to just use PODs next time because UHaul is like this with most of the UBoxes they move for people.Annastasia C.

The inside of the cab was dirty, esp. the inside of the windshield. I spent an hour and a half cleaning inside both cab and cargo area. But I am fussy, so it may not be important. The mechanics were in good shape and that is what counts. And I know that not having enough personnel is a "drawback" to getting jobs done.JUDITH JANE C.

There was only one service tech there that knew how to pull my car up on the trailer. Unfortunately, my cars undercarriage was damaged due to pulling it up on the trailer. The windshield wipe fluid tank was punctured. The plastic behind the bumper was also pulled away and I have two equally nice scratches under the bumper due to the wheel stops. This will be an expensive fix due to it being a Mercedes. Some wood blocks under the wheels would have made the difference.Jennifer G.

I was encouraged to call-back if I needed to extend my estimate on rental time. As my errands were taking a bit longer than planned, I attempted to call the U-Haul store to so advise. Unfortunately, the call connected to a long list of menu choices, and the attempt to link with a live receptionist only resulted in a notice of a "15-minute wait" - a wait that is too long for a cell phone call. Having the ability to connect with a live receptionist instead of a menu would be much more customer focused.MICHAEL B.

The reason for the NO in the question of â€œclean and well maintainedâ€ wasn't because it was a dirty truck, the truck was very clean on the inside. The reason for the NO is for the â€œmaintainedâ€ part, the steering on the truck was so bad that it felt unsafe to even drive at highway speed, it had a horrible bump steer and you could feel clunking in the steering rack when we contacted the location we pick the truck up from to ask if we could leave the truck in the city I moved to we were told no because they on the truck, was very unhappy with his response as this truck was not properly checked by your mechanics and in my opinion, it shouldn't be loaned out again until it is fixedNICHOLAS ANDREW K.

Normally I would rate my experience very highly and checking the trailer out was fine. But getting a voi e mail that the trailer was late ans if I did bring it back it would be considered stolen was way beyond ok. I have been a loyal and very frequent renter of may uhaul vehicles, trainers and storage service. A simple look at my account would have shown this. That statement was an insult. I have always used U-Haul and always been happy with no issues until 6 months ago when I needed a storage unit and used another that was very close to my place. BAD mistake that I will never ever do again and will still always recommend U-Haul. Someone camping out inside the storage unit we think broke out my lock and had time to go through all my boxes and stole so much stuff!
