Every one of the 6+ employees with whom I had contact during my very nerve-wracking cross-country move was not only eager to work with me to fit my needs, but was extremely friendly while doing it. Sometimes national chains can make a customer feel like their business is more of a drag than a pleasure. That was definitely not the case with U-Haul. If a customer's contact number is given and uhaul sends a text that says we will call you (the contact) to confirm and never does then the local rep accuses customer of giving a fake or bad number and they never call the actual contact number given. Probably the uhaul rep either called a very old contact number or misdialed number given it does leave a bad "taste"/ experience for customer as they feel unjustly accused. This should be addressed with proper training at the local uhaul store level. ThanksCrystal M.

The truck was clean, however, the mirrors didn't adjust up and down and therecwas no backup camera as we were told. It made driving and backingbup challenging. The person in the passenger seat was able to check for traffic, so we managed, but it would have been hard if a single person had rented the truck.Sonja K.

The front desk staff that assisted me last Aug 20 wasn't happy to assist customers arriving 20mins before closing. He deliberately showed us how inconvenient for him to assist customers that late, though technically he should be working 'til the last of his shift and should be expecting to extend beyond his hours at times given the nature of his work as front staff. I called prior and he was very sarcastic answering questions. I believe your staff should know why they're there and the nature of their job is. I drove all the way from Texas to Washington and that kind of service is what I got. One thing more, you guys should advise us customers if the facility you're directing us to has a storage unit if you presented that as part of the deal. I was directed to U-Haul Everett thinking they have storage when in fact they didn't, I even witnessed another of your staff there getting frustrated with another staff right in front of us customers. The handy guy not the manager was helpful enough to direct us at Lynnwood and when we got there, there goes another experience. You've got serious problems with your staff here in Washington, seems like they don't like what they're doing and I guess your company needs to sort them out. Perhaps ask approximate number of furniture pads the customer may need. We didn't need any and then had to make sure we had the room to keep them in the container for the trip. We had to leave a piece of furniture behind to make sure we had room for all the blankets.Tracey P.
The staff I have met at any U-Haul facility are excellent. U-Haul just has some systems problems that it needs to work to overhaul. One example is regarding partial month rent when warranted and the other was a major problem at another U-Haul facility when they were unable to deliver a long planned move and with a last minute notification, caused a potential disaster of a situation. The wonderful staff worked it out for an alternate plan but it was one of the most stressful situations I have ever had to face.Judy H. | Overall Experience

My comment is not related to your location as your location did everything correctly. My disappointment was from my original location/reservation which was by the Everett Costco. Unfortunately the previous renter did not leave the van keys and I was really inconvenienced by having to process an alternate location which was not convenient for me and cost me extra time which I did not have.Adela T.
Please work on respectful customer service while checking in at the office. I was asked to submit a photo ID of my driver's license while at the counter. I handed the woman my driver's license and asked if she could take a photo for me. Then she was confrontational telling me what's the difference if you do it or I do it. She said somewhat rudely "lets see if you can get this done". I really didn't appreciate this behavior. After two attempts of not successfully uploading. She ended up taking the picture as initially requested. It's not good to be intentionally rude to customers ever ar anytime. She also asked why she should do it for me? The location for pick up is not where we originally requested. The truck had about 1/4 tank of gas. I was scheduled to return to a location much closer to my home but the counter people asked me to return it to their location. I did so but as it was out of my way I returned after hours, to which I was charged a $20 service fee. No good deed goes unpunished. Thanks.TIMOTHY P.

This Uhaul Center is very new and offers all services and equipment. The Staff is knowledgeable and trained well, except in customer service and teamwork. I rented and stored 3 Uboxs, and then one truck. Each visit to the sight was quite unpleasant as I waited for a clerk with her head down on the counter next to a bag of cough drops as customers waited, to an employee actually yelling foul language about the warehouse team. I was given different directions each time as to where to drop and check in with my POD. By the last visit I knew the one employee who would politely help me. This was a great place 3 yrs ago, but the culture is negative an toxic with no customer service in mind. Very disappointing. Please feel free to contact me for details. You need to train your employees on customer service. I was renting and purchasing several items from the store and nobody offered me any assistance or at least a cart. When I returned the reusable boxes, I was told to "put them in the back"--behind a door that says "employees only." I asked the employee for a receipt confirming that I have returned the boxes, and he says that they will email it to me. I asked him how he plans to do that when he doesn't even know my name. He was clearly just trying to get rid of me. I had to call the store several times to make sure that they close my contract and was on hold for over 30 minutes each time. Then a few days later, I discovered that I was double charged for extending my rent. I called the store again in an attempt to get a refund but was put on hold. After 20 minutes, I just gave up. Keep the $9.42!! I will never do business with U-Haul ever again, and I will tell my friends and families to do the same.Jennifer A.

To turn in the van I rented I followed the instructions on a print out. Which were: 2. If returned outside business hours: use free mobile return at uhaul.com/share or pay service fee instead as indicated on the contract. I went through the website listed. And followed the directions. It asked is to share my location, which I did, it asked to park the van and drop off my keys at the orange box, and that that's it I'm done. It did not asked me for any pictures or milage nor gave an option to enter any of them. Today I woke up with extra charges for the after hour service and late turn in, I returned the van at least an hour earlier. I called in into the office there in Lynnwood, they kindly removed the late charges, but not the $20 after hour service for not putting in pictures or milage, but the website did not asked me any of these information nor gave me option to enter it. This is roberry. I will make sure to let everyone know to never rent vehicle in the hours outside of operating hours as the website is not reliable and does not work correctly, not giving the option to enter nor asks for the information that needed to avoid extra charges, and will think twice myself to ever use u haul again in the future.Aleksey P.

Physical location is wonderful - I have used this location several times. However, the level of service has deteriorated substantially. Your employees as this location are not service oriented, and their physical appearance is horrible! They looked like a motley crew - a real bunch of misfits. So unfortunate because I love doing business with U-Haul but not very excited about working with this group of employees again.GARY H.

Danielle, your general manager at your Highway 99 Lynnwood location was incredibly rude and I was treated horribly. She talked in a berating, mocking tone as my English is not fluent. She talked down to me as if I was causing HER all the troubles in the world and the source of her problems. Is this how you treat your customers who do not speak fluent English? She was so microaggressive. Besides all that, she was completely unprofessional- constantly eating and drinking in front of the customer, and talking loudly about personal topics to her coworkers while ignoring the customer right in front of her. To start off my experience with this location Danielle, the GM, called me saying she doesn’t have the 6x12 trailer I reserved because she didn’t want to give me what she had for the length of time I needed it. She then sends me from Lynnwood to Kenmore for the trailer. Which, when you ask her she swears she has nothing to do with my contract and my reservation was never at her location it was at a different one. Which is entirely incorrect. I would love for someone to listen to the audio recordings of her calls to me. She also called me to verify the storage unit I needed and said it’s available and ready for when I arrive. Well, when I arrived I found out she had canceled my reservation and had given the unit to someone else with the excuse of “you reservation isn’t valid until you’re here in person.” So what reason does one need to make a reservation if it’s not going to be honored even after they call to confirm it’s available and ready for move-in?! Well, when I was at the location to get checked in Danielle ends up being the one to setup my check in and do my contract. Which this was an entirely unpleasant situation too. She kept stopping what she was doing to walk off and help other customers just leaving me at the counter without even saying so much as “sorry” or “excuse me.” No respect or manners at all for the fact that she was assisting me. On top of the fact that Danielle swears she has nothing to do with my contract yet the contract says otherwise, not to mention the video recording from when I was in the location. I also was never allowed to sign the contract and when I mentioned this she said it didn’t matter, which I know isn’t correct. So, then I get to the point of not wanting to give any of my money to U-Haul ever again because I’m owed over $600, I make an agreement with Danielle to get my things out and not pay the recent months rent. As my girlfriend and I are trying to get my things out the rest of Danielle’s staff decides that they are going to harass my girlfriend for money every time she goes into the office to get the alarm disarmed because Danielle refused to activate my swipe card to give me access to my unit to remove my things. She made us go in the office to get it disarmed. Which was an entire ordeal. Jessica, the assistant manager, is by far one of the most foul humans to deal with too. She was extremely rude to my girlfriend every time she was in the office. She flat out refused to disarm the alarm and said we had no choice but to set it off and deal with the noise. Which to a disabled veteran with tendinitis like myself those alarms are dangerous and damaging to my physical health. I’ve had a migraine since 2/16 from those alarms going off several times for extended periods of time. All of this is for certain not how U-Haul wants their company represented I’m sure. I do know that the attorney I’ve hired is very much on top of filing the lawsuit to retain all of the email, phone, and video records of my experiences with U-Haul to get all my money back I am owed as promised by this company and we are pressing charges for the harassment and abusive nature of the employees.Kyle G. | Overall Experience

Where do I start…. I reserved a 6x12 trailer at this location, including having a storage unit. Well I got a phone call from someone at the location saying they didn’t want to give me the trailer they did have on lot however if I wanted to go to another location 30 minutes away they have one for me. Due to not wanting to deal with not having the trailer I reluctantly took the option available. They didn’t tell me it was just a dealer at some tiny little market in the middle of nowhere. Which was massively inconvenient for me in every way possible. Then, a few days later I get a call to confirm the storage and size I needed, with being told it would be available for me and I was very clear about the days possibly moving. I was told it wasn’t an issue. However, it became an issue. My reservation was canceled and the size unit I needed became unavailable. Which the manager told me, “making a reservation doesn’t guarantee availability.” Then why on earth was I called and confirmed for unit and size?!?! Why was I told it would be available?! This isn’t even everything that happened regarding U-Haul. This is just the one location. The dealer even messed up in allowing me to tow a trailer without having the cables to connect the lights. Which I would love to get reimbursed for. Doesn’t include the previous U-Haul location accusing me of stealing equipment that didn’t belong to them, as well as not giving refunds promised. I was told by customer service that someone would contact me in up to 3 days and it’s now been over 5.
