Arrived at 8:00 as contract stated. Didn't get to leave until after 10 o'clock! Could not get the "code" to the box containing the keys to the truck. Called U-Haul twice and had to re-enter all my data again. Asked the owner if he could get the keys and he said no! He stated that the box was under U-hauls control. Question; how do the keys get into the box? Does someone from U-haul drive out to the site and put them in? Yea, I didn't think so. I have used U-haul many times, but never again.Daniel W.

Monday, Aug 10th I picked up the truck and car transporter. I had scheduled to pick them up in Pueblo, 90 minutes north, but U-Haul changed the location at the last minute and had me picking them up 25 miles south of Pueblo in Colorado City. I didn't like that because the original spot was a real U-Haul place and the new place was just an industrial yard of some sort, run by a Marine-looking young guy whose wife ran the U-Haul franchise and she wasn't there and he was grumpy about having to take on her duties on a Monday morning. I'd ordered 4 dozen moving blankets and they didn't have that. They had 6 blankets. He suggested I drive up to Pueblo to get more. Nice. Then the U-Haul guy pointed out how to attach the car trailer to the truck, but wouldn't demonstrate because of "insurance reasons." It was already hooked up, so I drove my car up onto the trailer and the hitch fell off the truck and buried itself in the dirt. Not only that, the trailer fender was in the way of my front door so I couldn't open the car door when it was up on the trailer. I had to wriggle out the window to go tell the U-Haul guy what had happened. He cranked the trailer tongue back up by hand and hooked it to the truck and told me my car door was too low to clear the fender and that other cars had higher doors. I thought, "Shenanigans!", but was operating sort of in a state of shock about the whole move, so I didn't say anything and instead drove 65 miles back home to the the mountains with my window open. I towed it up the last mile-long dirt road to my condo with the window down and collected all kinds of dust inside. I was grumpy about that so the minute I got home, I got on the internet to your U-Haul website to complain and somehow found a video that showed how I could disconnect and lower the car trailer fender out of the way and then any car door would clear the tires underneath. It would have been so easy if the guy had just shown me how. I wasn't happy about any of that, but at least I didn't have to tape a flappy garbage bag over the window and drive 900 miles to Arkansas that way, hoping for fair weather. One other thing: i pointed out some scars of the truck and the U-Haul guy said "Don't worry about that - you have complete insurance and could total the truck and you're covered." Do you like your insurance and equipment discussed that way?malcolm M.

U-Haul sent me on a 3 hour drive to pick up the 20 foot truck. The appliance dolly was not there, so I had to call around to find one. When I found one it was at the location I requested to pick up the truck to start with. I was informed that they not only had the dolly but the truck as well. They also had the 26 foot truck I needed so I had to rent it a day early so as to insure I had both of the trucks I needed. By the time I was finished with the renting of the trucks and dolly I was unable to load anything that day and I didn't get back home till after eleven that night. because of having to find someone to ferry me back and forth to pick up both trucks. I was very disappointed with the rental!Michael W.

Bought a ball and hitch from your Lakeland, FL location before leaving. The ball needed to be attached to the hitch and the service department did this for me. At the end of my drive to Colorado I discovered the ball had not been torched down properly and had nearly come off the hitch! There was less than half an inch of threads before it would have released from the hitch. Very alarming since I had gone over a steep mountain pass at the end of the trip with live animals in my trailer. I am hoping this is addressed so that no one losses their life over such a critical issue. I can provide the store where this occurred once I unpack everything and gain access to the receipt.Antara S.

Help you customer especially if 1st time customer and do not know what to do. If computer down call 800 number to help. Had to request they take my contract number to report receiving the trailer. Just to make sure we called 800 number ourselves to report drop off after disconnecting.Gerald P.

We waited an hour for someone who knew how to rent out the equipment. When we tried to return the equipment at our destination, they tried to charge us an extra $160 because our rental agent set up the rental incorrectly, forcing us to drive back to his location and return our equipment there or pay extra.Chris G.
Personnel did not know how to complete turn-in paperwork, charged us for gas (returned truck with more than was in at pick-up), charged us 2 extra days instead of 1, had to make complaint to U-haul corporate, still waiting on reply. Also not a good experience.Roxie F.

Very poor pick up experience. I don't think it was the local facilities fault. He was absolutely unable to pull up the contract information I previously completed on the U-Haul site. Even more frustrating was the fact that the U-Haul site wouldn't accept my credit card (or the second one for that matter). Wasn't an issue with my card, but with the U-Haul site. Only issue I had with the local office was that the place reeked of cigarette smoke. Not a normal experience in Colorado where non-smoking facilities are the norm.Larry S.

The customer service, care and attention received was excellent. The small uhaul truck would've been more convenient to use if it had had a ramp accessibility. I will need to rent a small uhaul truck in a few weeks for the heavy appliances left in the house. Having a ramp, even a detachable one, would make the effort of moving these items less worrisome of being damaged. Thank you.letha S.
