The agent over charged me. She kept the deposit after it was explained to me I would be receiving it back. I waited 30 minutes for her to try and process the purchase. She called someone to try and help her figure out what to do… Terrible experience.
TAMARA MMy previous review indicated 5 stars, which is absolutely FALSE. As previously stated, the vehicle had a completely inoperable driver's side wiper (IN THE WINTER!!!!). This was brought to the store's attention to which he shrugged and said he would send a text message. I was on a schedule to do what I needed to do with the vehicle so I just took it anyway and hoped for the best (in a snow storm - so I brought my own snow brush with me from my personal vehicle). The truck is advertised as $19.95 but the final bill was $127!!! I instead charged me a rental charge of $39.95!!! I drove 22 kms. The lady had told me it was $0.89 per km but it is in fact $1.75!! So they tacked on $38.50 for mileage instead of $19.58. Don't bother putting gas in because they are going to charge you a fueling charge ($29.07) and environmental fee anyway. Also, the vehicles are American (so Miles on the speedometer instead of kms) and so is their billing (but in Canadian currency). So, to summarize, I rented a small little truck that was advertised as $19.95 and paid $127 for a small truck with a broken driver's side wiper that was completely inoperable. I WILL NEVER use U-Haul again and I will NEVER recommend U-HAUL. Absolutely brutal!!!

Preston HThe information on picking up the vehicle online differs from what happened that morning. It took forever to get the paperwork processed because we were told "U-Haul comes second" so she stopped multiple times to serve other customers. When the truck was returned the person working wasn't able to do anything so we left it and someone had to take care of it the next morning. The rental was booked for 10-4, my workers didn't get the truck to our location (about 2 minutes down the street from pick up location) until almost 11:00. If in the future I am in need of a rental again I will not go to this location, that will mean having to drive into town to pick up and then come back to load which will waste time and money.
ELLA TVehicle had to be dug out of a snowbank and ice chipped off before use. Check engine light was on and engine ran poorly. Absolutely horrible customer service at the Val Caron Kwik way location. This location was a corner store and employee left mid transaction several times to serve other customers who just entered the store. I politely explained that I had waited my turn, was next in line and please finish my Uhaul transaction before prioritizing the corner store customers. Employee went crazy, told me to Fuck off and get the fuck out of his store. He told me that he was going to kick the fuck out of me if I didn't leave. He also told me that my address was in the system and threatened my safety. (I have contacted the police). I immediately contacted uhaul customer service on Fri February 16th and was passed thru 3 different customer service representatives, Shannon, Rafael and Ruby. I spent over 2 hour on the phone with no results. I was told Jason Oakes, a manager would contact me. It has been a week and he has not. I have left several messages with him. Friday February 23rd I received a bill for $167. The rental was supposed to be around $60. The uhaul employee at the corner store has lied about the fuel.level and charged me a surcharge. I rented it with 5/8 tank and returned it 2 hours and 30km later with 5/8 tank. I put $15 fuel in the truck and have time stamped photos of the fuel level and odometer. Friday February 23rd I contacted uhaul again and spoke with Michael. He informed me that no record of my complaint from the previous Fri had been documented but would document it this time (# 4653449). He informed me that noone above him was present to authorize a refund but I would be contacted within half an hour. I was not contacted. I am at the point now that I am not willing to pay for any portion of this rental because of the amount of time this has cost me. I have had a horrible customer service experience at both the location and poor results from the uhaul customer service team (besides Michael, he was some help)
Curtis SI had to jump start the Vehical. I do not know whether I kept some light turned on to drain all battery? Or fault with vehicle? You may get Vehical inspected, so other customers will not face the issue. If it was (jump start !) because of my (keeping some light on) mistake, better inform next customers not to on any electrical when parked.

Ronald MWas a little bit of a nightmare when I got there, and there’s no vehicle!! Not to blame staff, but when the people don’t return them and you’ve made plans to move, it’s a little stressful. Luckily, the people were searching for another vehicle for me.

Marc-André DClean your units. I had to clean it myself before I left. My mom also had a rental reservation and hers was dirty also when we opened up the trailer and then they tried to charge us a service fee for cleaning when we dropped it off. The person running the store we picked up from was also very slow at processing us for pick up. Her system took forever to respond or whatever and it took way longer than it should have to leave. She was also the only person working so she needed to help customers inbetween getting us organized. She was polite and patient but she needed an extra body to help her out.
Kristie KThe trailer was filthy on the inside. Something had dripped down the front of the inside panel. Oil/grease/tar substance not sure. Trailer had not been looked at upon return of previous customer otherwise the trailer would have been cleaned. Unfortunately I did not inspect the trailer myself prior to renting it out expecting it to be clean. The overall booking took over an hour to complete. My last name was incorrect on the documents, which was pointed out to the lady but was told it wouldn’t matter. The drop off location was also wrong from where I told her where I would be dropping it off. Overall bad experience. Will never rent from there again. The lady was very patient, friendly but overwhelmed trying to rent the trailer to me as well as serving customers in the store.
helen mWorse location we ever dealt with. Third time we use them and it has not improved. Clerk never seems to know how to complete the rental transaction, they wait on store customers and make you wait forever, takes at least half an hour each time we rent from them. Will definitely use another location to rent our next uhaul.
Donald AI booked a 10" truck to pick it up in lasalle, an hour before a representative called me because they don't have the vehicle, she told me that they have one available in valcaron, it doesn't matter that u-haul charges me the kilometers I have to travel once I pick it up the vehicle, when I get to Valcaron I realize that they have a 15" truck, and this one is more expensive, in the end I paid 70 dollars instead of 30 or less
Cristian ETrailer used was clean and did what we expected…. Just a note .. not sure of the instructions but we had some difficulty hitching up to the ball.. suggest have a quick instruction on how to properly hook up to a 2” hitch ball. Thanks
Norman JUnfortunately this place has one clerk working and me being a woman had no help lifting the trailer onto my truck. I needed to call someone for help. All other locations help but not this one. I told them no insurance.... They charged me insurance. Overall not great experience and I won't rent from that location ever again.

JUSTIN MWe attempted to take pic of driver’s license 5 times which never did work for the back of license bar code. My upgrade to a 20ft from 15ft for no charge was not set up in the system and had to be overridden.

David RThere was a large amount of confusion when I returned my rental. I had needed to extend my reservation, and the person I spoke to when I called the 1-800-GO-U-HAUL was able to do that, however it was not made clear to me that the charge I provided payment info for was going to be a hold, and not an actual paymrnt. It also was not indicated as such on the receipt I received when my rental return was completed.
brodi bDoor was frozen shut, no parking, language barrier and problems with the ramp. Val Caron was confusing but okay. They did not have a vehicle so we had to go to Hanmer. The above problems were in Hanmer location.
Scott CInitially charged 39.00 for 10 foot truck when it was a local 19.99 truck. Truck was stuck in snow and on ice! soaked my boots and socks even before starting my move. Truck was covered in snow Then when i was about to give up on the truck , store employee gave me salt and said to try and spread salt which actually worked. Owner didn’t attend store when store clerk called. This service was very unprofessional and wasn’t a service i expected. This vehicle should have been ready to be picked up and easier to manoeuvre to get out of the parking spot. It’s bad enough i’m charged in mileage instead of kilometres from the uhaul system! aweful experience all together

FREDRICK MMy u haul location was changed 3 times. When I got there I completed the online check prior but they didn’t have my truck ready? They told me to come back the next day when I was moving that evening. Very unorganized, I ended up having to take a random truck on the lot and go through the entire prioress which I completed on my phone again. This took 30 min of my moving time. Overall very disappointed
KATELYNNMARIE SThe whole uhaul business is completely disorganized and a total cluster I had to give and put my information in 3 times The whole reason I rented the unit was because I needed to pick up something that was time sensitive Because of the disorganization of the company I missed my deadline and spent $375 plus fuel for nothing. I’m not impressed and wouldn’t recommend the location or u haul to anyone ever
MICHAELKEITH HThe owner is rude and does not know how to talk to customers. He withheld my deposit even tho the truck was brought back fueled up, saying that I would half to drive back across town the next day to recieve it. He told me he would meet me there the next day to make it right instead he left a note written in another language for the employee to refund the deposit and ask me to leave. I'll never go back to that uhaul or the other uhaul in hanmer kwik way. I will never recommend but I'll do the opposite and leave my reviews were it can be seen and tell anybody around me to avoid at all cost. I think you should evaluate this owner to see if he should be representing your business or talking to YOUR customers, thank you.
TERRANCECHRISTOP CHigher mileage to avoid overage costs. I purchase unlimited but I guess there is a limit since I got over charged. Never again with Uhaul. Maybe a new company will open and there will be competition rather then a monopoly.

VICTORB FHad to pick up at a different location. Received no call to confirm or let me know, I had to call. When I arrived, clerk had no idea what to do and served 30 customers buying cigarettes and snacks even though I was next to be served. I was handed the store’s phone to go over everything again despite having completed the express check in. I was asked to provide credit card information out loud while standing in the middle of a convenience store. It took 55 minutes. After that I was told that I had to drive to another location as there were no dollys or shipping blankets (despite ordering them ahead). I was given no instructions about the truck and after picking up the dolly and blankets, we could not use the blankets as they were very damp if not soaked and reeked of mildew. UHaul knows they can treat customers like this because they have cornered the market, however, we do plan to move again in a year and will do our best to avoid using U-haul. What a stressful way to start an already stressful event of moving to another city.
