Fix and service the uhaul vehicle and make sure the customer service center has the correct hours and days of operation for this location. The mirror was broke, the check engine light was on, and the truck was dirty on the inside.HEAVEN S.
This was a total disaster. They overcharged us by not changing the drop off location, even though we requested multiple times with multiple people before pick-up. At pick-up we were reassured the drop-off was adjusted and the price corrected and then got multiple emails several hours later changing things in the contract and online. What is this some kind of scam? The truck wasn't at the location even with a â€œGuaranteed reservationâ€ . We had to go so far away for it, and it wasn't ready on the day. We waited for hours and lost our driver so the total move has been irreparably affected. Uhaul customer service is still trying to figure it out.Treveon H.

I have not been disrespected and humiliated like i was at this location . The gentleman( Afriacan American ) and lady at the desk who checked me in was extremely efficient and their customer service was amazing . Upon returning the truck i was greated by a gentleman who requested that i go back to the truck and take a picture of the dashboard to show the mileage and gas gage . While in the truck he walks to the truck and immediately tells me theres a dent on the truck that I am responsible for . This gentleman who wasn't the person who checked me out immediately starts to accused me of having an accident with the truck and not reporting. I firmly tells him the truck was given to me like that and theres no way i had an accident with the truck . He damands the key from me and walks away . I go into the office checks out and walk away . Few minutes later while driving home i realized i left my phone in the vehicle and return to check the car . Again the lady and the gentleman inside are extremely helpful and figure out he didn't give her the key instead and i had to wait for him for 10minutes to return the key . Few minutes later he returns with the key and this time around he brings back the issue about the dent and this time around request that i call my insurance and i quickly and firmly tells him that i will not be calling my insurance and he needs to stop harassing and calling me a liar . I do walk away and finds my phone in the truck. Few minutes later i get a text from the lady in the office apologizing and confirming that the truck did have the dent before i picked it up . I seldomly write reviews but i had to do this because i strongly belives that i was racially profilled as a black man with dreadlocks and that gentleman was extremely rude and disrespectful . I am not sure how this is going to move forward but I'll suggest that Uhaul address this situation and create some sort of education on customer service for the particular gentleman . As a black man living in America the times are hard and as a supported of all buisnesses I am definately not going to recommend this location to any one.EDWIN M.
This location had only two pieces of Uhaul equipment and knew nothing about the car dolly. It did not have a connector extension to hook up the lights. There was something very wrong with the dolly. It made incredibly loud racket the whole time it was moving. Got home and notice a tire looked low so I unscrewed the valve cap an the whole stem broke in my hand. The tire went all the way flat after that.Anthony W.

They charged me $26 for gas because I didn't return the truck at 3/8 tank. I have never heard of 3/8 tank of gas. I am familiar with 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full. I return the truck at 1/4 tank. I only drove the truck to Upper Marlboro and back to the U-Haul place.JOSEPH J.

Online showed an earlier pickup time than the location itself (9:30 vs 10) Having checked in online, it was a bit confusing how to verify the truck's condition, since the link sent didnt work. I told Alex and he said my pics would suffice. Same with return. Both Alex and Maggie were friendly and Maggie was very knowledgeable and assuring as well.Lloyd W.

Valentine Motors company was fine. However, the uhaul in Marlow Heights area was awful. I'll probably never rent from uhaul again. My pick appointment time was 9:00 am. At 8:55 I got a notification that my location and time had changed as I was in line. It was moving day for me and it threw everything off schedule due to I am assuming over booking. 3 years again I used uhaul and also had a horrible experience and tried to give it another chance. I had issue returning my truck and I couldn't get through to the 1800 number. This was on Sat. The woman who returned the truck never looked at the note that was in the system. This is rediculous.reginald A.

My reservation was changed without telling me. I chose the original pickup location because it was a short walk from my apartment. This was important since I did not have a vehicle. Also, the wipers did not work well. The one had no blade to clean the glass. The window seal was pulling away from the windshield. During rain, the driver would get wet from drips going around the seal.eric E.

The lady didn't explain to me what i needed to do when returning the truck it was my first time renting a U-haul so I got charge for thing I was not told about at the time of rental. I was very displease with the service. she never told me about the gas and when I ask her did she know or have an idea of were the gas gage was when I rented the truck she had no clue .so I was charge a $100.00 dollars more. I would like to talk to corp. about this matter.Lanise J.
I booked a 9am pickup on May 2 at 1501 S Capitol St SW, Washington, DC 20003 (walking distance from my home). On May 1, I got an automated email from Uhaul indicating that my pickup location was 5545 Marlboro Pike, Forestville, MD 20747 instead, with no explanation of why it was changed or even that it was changed at all. Luckily I noticed, or I would have gone to the wrong location. I arrived at 5545 Marlboro Pike at 9am on May 2nd but it was closed and all the trucks were locked behind a barbwire fence so I couldn't even do a mobile pick up. The location was not answering their phone and it took me 45 minutes to get someone on the phone at Uhaul. The business owner finally arrived at 10am (when they open) and I was able to get the truck but I had wasted a hour sitting on the side of a busy road. The owner told me Uhaul did not notify them about the pickup until midnight the night before. She was helpful and did the best she could to quickly check me in, but this was pretty sloppy from Uhaul.Frank T.

The truck sounded horrible. The transmission slipped and the take off was sluggish. The inside was relatively clean, but the condition of the truck for the distance I was traveling was concerning. The reservation and admin process was long and required too much technology on the part of the customer. I absolutely detested the requirement for me to use my cell phone to upload my drivers license to a webpage. I am not clear about the security of my PII with this process. Probably not within the control of Valentine Motors. The person who helped me was very apologetic and stayed very calm thought my complaining. So kudos to her.joyce W.
