I dropped the truck off about 4:00 pm on Thursday, when it was supposed to be returned at 8:30 am on Friday. Over 16 hours early. The hours at VJ Food Mart are 7:00 am to 9:00 pm. It was definitely not clean and inviting! The girl behind the counter told me to just drop the key in the drop box. That was it! Today, Friday 7:00 am (still 1 1/2 hours before it was supposed to be returned), I get a charge of over $20 for after hours return! What is that all about?

Hadiyah JThe main office directed me to this location and didn’t help me at all. Not even the manager Tori- it was the worse customer service ever. The app was NOT quick and gave me wrong information. I had to back and forth 4 times to even get the truck, and then after an hour and ten minutes, I still couldn’t get the key from the lockbox. The truck was fine it was the service and the app that ruined my experience. I’ve used uhaul before and never had an issue until this time. I won’t be using this again.

Kristen KExtremely difficult to turn in. I was forced to use the UHaul app to process the turn in myself or pay an extra fee. The app was difficult to use and would accept the mileage. The people on site wouldnt help and the getting assistance ovewr the phone was difficult. I have used UHaul many times over the years. It has never been a great service but this was the worst.

David FI will use the 15th St location in our area. Too much hassle to not have anybody available to help. It was almost 2 hrs to retrieve key from lockbox and over 30 to return.
David BWe were charged $30 because we were supposed to have the truck back by 11am. We rented the truck in Eastern time but moved to a central time zone. We took the truck back at 10:55am central time, but on the receipt it said 11:55 am because of the time change. We actually had the truck back before time in our time zone but we were still charged $20 for late return. Also, my husband put gas in it to where it was supposed to be before returning it but we were charged $8 for not having the correct amount of gas in it. I even swept it out and made sure it was clean before returning it to get $25 back but we were charged $30. On the app I had to choose a place for pickup and drop off. The app should have accounted for the time change and not count it as eastern time since we moved to central.

tim aHorrible experience all together. I ended up running behind so I figured I would have to pay a late fee of some sort. Tried calling the drop off location to which the staff said all matters to do with U-Haul had to be handled online. So I ended up getting charged for an extra day $40. Ok no big deal but the had to pay for $35 extra mileage. Literally rented truck drive to old house, to new house, and the drop-off location. Literally from point A to point B is all on the same road. So why wouldn't the entire trip be included in original price. Also, apparently they charge you $20 because it's after hours service fee, mind you this is 1:00 in the afternoon. Overall, I'm highly disappointed in U-Haul. I've always heard good things about them, but this was a not good experience. $100 extra plus $75 gas for 150 mile trip. This whole thing cost over $300 when it should ha d only been $85 plus gas (didn't think it would take an entire 22gal tank for 150 miles).

Vic HMy truck that I originally was supposed to rent had the incorrect mileage than what was reported. I ended up being placed in another truck which had trash on the inside of the cab and cargo area, the cup holder was broken off and the check engine light was on. Since I was traveling across several states I contacted roadside assistance before I ever left. Once they arrived 2 and a half hours later the removed a rat from the engine which was causing a clog. The check engine light went off but once I began to drive the truck it came back on and began to stutter all the way to my destination 4 states away.
AVIANCE DWell everything was great. Besides the pick up… for one it was a convenience store, with one worker. And two I was held up by an hour trying to figure out why the truck I reserved wasn’t ready. I’m the system that is. The keys were there, but in the system it said there is no equipment assigned to my order. So it shaved a valuable hour off of my time.
Travis hAll the trucks are parked in a mud lot which is fine until it rains for 15 days straight.

Ernestine PYou can improve for the next customer by not renting that truck it’s super old. Wasted double the fuel and was only able to go 50mph because the truck sounded like if it was going to fall apart. a 8 hour trip turned to a 15 hour trip. Sucks I can’t even get a partial refund.

Elizabeth PI am rating this excellent, however, I hated the online rental experience! I had to contact a representative by phone for both pickup and drop-off due to issues with the website. During drop-off I kept getting an error saying the mileage I entered was less than at pickup. The only reason I gave en excellent is because the representatives on the phone were amazing! I will never rent online again!
Treche Slocation drop off was just that, location personnel had nothing to do with dropoff and had no information.

Samira MWas told we don't do anything you do it all on your phone. Then the worked came outside and told us to pull in or back up by dumpster. After pulling in, she came out again and said no back in. Then nevermind I'll do it. Told is to put key in box, then said no don't . But we had already out the key in the box.

Douglas Cit is ridiculous that i have to have my mobile device at that location to pick up a truck. I had someone else picking it up and we never could get it done. i had to drive down there after hours of frustration to get the truck checked out. The app should be a nice feature, not a requirement to getting the truck!

Brianna CPlease have your IT do an update for improvements to your UHAUL online check-in. I did my check-in before I arrived at 9:00 to pick up my truck. Once I got there I had to check in again by taking photos of my driver's license. That could have been done at home. My alternate number person could have been entered at home as well. However, we had to stand outside in FL heat and humidity while waiting for approval. Once we got approved to get our key, we again had to post several photos of the truck. Again, we had to wait too long for approval because of slow UHAUL upload of photos. Additionally I was told on the phone the day before that reserved pads would already be in the truck, which they were not. Luckily the 7/11 attendant had them in a back room. The process took 35 minutes, whereas it should be expedited to last no longer that 10-15 minutes. BTW, there was another couple having long check-in delays with UHAUL website as well. Thank you.

TEO LVery friendly staff however … where you have to drop off the trucks is a sandy area so that is not the most desirable area and our truck got stuck in the sand
DaKieya SThe lock box with the key inside took half an hour to get into, because the code would not work. The cashier had to try twice for several minutes each time to get it opened. It finally opened. It took way too long to get a key and leave.
Timothy PTruck was on empty,cab was dirty,the rear compartment was filthy with construction debris. I didn't know if I would make it to the gas station. Opened the lock box and there was no key in it. Im absolutely disappointed with the experience.

William HArea needs more parking for vehicles and it needs to be advertised that this place is part of the truck share program and can only be utilized with the mobile app.

Philip HTonya, whom was taking the returned truck and tow dolly. I do not think could read. She gave the lady at uhual on the phone someone else's info. I was then emailed there personal info. In a receipt. The store is a rundown convenience store that sells drug paraphernalia. She waited on customers the entire time, made my husband relocate the 26 foot truck and tow dolly across the parking lot. Then tried to get us to remove the tow dolly from the truck. She checked the gas and mileage three times. We were there over 45 minutes, I spoke to the lady with Uhual to verify our information which, she did not have. This was a VERY frustrating, and disgusting way of doing customer service. This looks extremely bad on Uhual, for customer's having to deal with this after having relocated my Mother 500 miles. I hope all the awful reviews of this location someone will actually pay attention to. Disgusted in Panama City, Florida
Tara PReserved a Uhaul online and when I got to pick up location they didn't have the truck I reserved so sent me to another location across town and when I went there to pick up equipment they didn't have dolly I reserved so ended up moving with no dolly it was a horrible experience.
Chris BThe location was a run down convenient store. The truck was well maintained but the cab was dirty. We didn't receive our email on pick up location & time until the day after the rental.
DAWN SAfter requesting a location and then being cancelled and sent to another location with an email and having to make another set of trips, I am sent to two different locations one far away from my requested location where a truck was not able to even be rented. Then I was sent to another location with a truck with 1/4 tank of gas at pickup. Very disappointed. Won't use Uhaul in the future. You changed your business model and it sucks!

Jean EWas a food mart, had 7 people waiting to by stuff. When she got to me I was told to stand to the side and wait. Then was told her computer was broke and she could not check me in. She called U Haul and was advised that I would have to wait since her computer was erroring out. I received a receipt later in the evening. Was told if I didn’t get one by morning to call U-Haul. Not a fun experience!

ronnie bThis was a convenience store and U Haul was not a priority for them. It took them a long time to get in touch with their contacts with U Haul which added to their frustration and mine. The trailer that I was assigned by U Haul was not at this location, so another one was given. When I went to return the trailer, I tried to get the correct trailer number added to my contract and called the national line twice and was transferred to a regional number. I was disconnected or had a dropped call the first time and called back to the national number and was given the regional number and was told by that person that the trailer number did not matter. Very confusing, probably the the worst U Haul experience in my 30+ years of using U Haul. Added to all of the Hurricane Michael stuff, it was less than desirable to say the least. Oh, and had no help getting the trailer hooked up to my truck.
MARK PSo thankful that this location was open and available to accept this return. I had called the selecteddrop off location around 3pm to see if they were open before I drove into town and was told by “Chasity” that they were open until 5pm only to find them closed when I arrived about 330pm. The sign on the door said they closed at 3pm today, so not only was I expecting them to be open but at least 4 or 5 others were as well.
