I had to pay an extra $225 for a wrong destination drop off after I was told I could deliver the truck to another location.

The truck only had 3/12 of a tank of gas and the back of the truck wasn't cleaned out. (There was broken glass and garbage) The self pickup was ridiculous. It took me 45 minutes to go through the pickup process via the app and then I still had to call to get it completed.

Need to make clear on web site if hitch can be picked up at location when picking up trailer. I ordered a hitch and when I got to the location, I was told that they don't have hitches. So I had to go to the store and buy a hitch. Two days after my trailer appointment, I received an email that the hitch I ordered is being delivered. What kind of since does that make. I made the appointment one day ahead of trailer pickup. Why would you ship me a hitch I needed two days ago. I web site should have notified me that the hitch is not available for pickup at the location and not deliverable in my time frame. Now I have to find a location to return the hitch to get my money back.

I will not rent from this location again. I reserved a 17’ truck and when I arrived, I was given a 26’ truck. Since this was a digital pick up as they were not there, I couldn’t do anything about it. And there were smaller trucks sitting there. I was not comfortable driving this large truck and my things had to be packed differently to compensate for the extra space. If I had wanted or needed a large truck, I would have rented one.

Very nice people. Too far and unexpected pick up location

The only thing that could be better us the 6x12 trailer have a jack to raise and lower onto a hitch. Someone is going to hurt their back lifting it to attach or detach the trailer. I am a pretty fit person and I stressed my back lifting it off and trying to lower onto three bricks on top of each other.

The location we reserved the truck from Yorktown did not have it, I was notified 24 hours prior. I was sent to a 2nd location on ironbound the truck was never returned so I was sent to a 3rd location on Rochambeau that was closed and no one responded, then I was sent to a 4th location in Quinton. The truck pulled hard to the right and steering wheel was off center. It also only had 1/4 tank of gas and had to stop and fill up before going anywhere. Then I had to go to a 2nd location for tow dolly. It cost us extra time and gas in uhaul & our car, not to mention time wasted we needed to load the truck. Left at 8am for 9am reservation and did not get home until 2pm. I think next time I will go with another company this was ridiculous. Joy at the main # was great and very helpful.

Of the beaten path. Not reliable phone reception for 24/7 access as advertised. I will add that Barbara was Very accessible and informative at all times. Alao, the truck I requested with a lift, and was told would be available in my reservatio, was NOT what was given me.

Every thing was ok but when I returned the truck they charged me $15 for fuel even though I returned with same amount of fuel that I picked up with. They are trying to cheat me $15 on the name of fuel which is very bad.

Very convenient 24 hour drop off location in rural New Kent county. Easy to return vehicle (plenty of space), easy to find lockbox, and within 24 hours, received response from U-Haul that return was complete and satisfactory.

The auto transports were not maintained well. One was missing chains and the other either had a ripped wheel tie down strap or was not secured because when I got it to my house to load it up, the strap was ripped and wouldn’t reach the ratchet.

Our pick up for the truck was an hour way. There was no one at the pick up site. It was an old building in the middle of no where. We were given the wrong code for the lock so we couldn’t get the key. The lock was also all gummed up and hard to use. they had sprayed it with something that didn’t help but then you had grease all over your hands. It took us an hour and half to finally get the truck after calling the 800 number several times and each time we had to call we were on hold. Mean while we had hired movers that were sitting at our house waiting for us. We lost 2 hours of paying movers to sit and wait for us to come back with a truck.

First time using the mobile app to pick up truck at this location. Was a real headache using the app. Couldn't get lock to unlock to get my key for truck. Had to wait till they opened to get key. Next time I will definitely pick up truck at a site where there is a person to check me in, and not dependent on a phone app to use. Also, truck I had was old and just had no horsepower at all. Trying to go up any hill or incline was a joke, took forever. Probably won't use Uhaul again. Ill use a truck rental that has newer, better trucks.

The online pickup was a complete disaster! Barbara at the pickup location, was less than 10 minutes away (her words), but couldn’t come & dispatch the truck “the old fashioned way”... Therefore what should have taken less than 10 minutes took over an hour because of her laziness! We gave up on her helping us & called Uhaul.com to help us obtain the rental. We were very frustrated & needless to say exasperated by the time we finally left the lot.
