This area was nothing but a place to park the truck and drop the keys - nobody to man the location, but the "return" on the app/web was actually pretty simple. My only concern was whether to park within the gated area or outside, since there was a U-Haul truck parked outside the fence, but none inside...but I pulled in anyway. The girl at the desk was very nice. The location was unpleasant and dirty. The truck I was given was sticky, a bit smelly and the dashboard, seats and floor was dirty. The truck also had no AC and myself and my two children drove 7 hours in 90degree temp. with no air conditioning. It was horrible.Kareem B.

When booking online rental paid for and requested 1/2 dozen furniture pads and there were none provided noe in the truck. Also since trucks are so old and do not have back up camera, I would also highly suggest adding an additional mirror that would show you behind the truck as it is completely blind back there and so very dangerous. Can I be credited for the charges for the furniture pads I paid for but did not receive?Denise S.

The truck we actually rented was not ready for us - there were no keys anywhere in it. Luckily the one next to it - which was the same size - had the keys left in it, so we took that one and everything worked on. Just an FYI for your own employees - make sure you're leaving the keys for the right vehicles.Sarah S.

Ensure the reserved rentals are held for a reasonable amount of time! I was due to pick up my truck at 8am. I spoke with Tracy (very nice) at this location on Friday afternoon for this Saturday morning pickup and she left off with "see you in the morning". I had over an hour drive to get to Pawcatuck and began calling at 7am when I knew I was running late. I tried again in route around 7:30, 7:45, 8, 8:10, 8:20, finally at 8:33am a man picked up and informed me that my reservation had been transferred b/c I was a no show at 8am and that this was the last truck he had. Needless to say, after driving for an hour, I was less than pleased. Only wen I pointed out that I had prepaid the rental around 7am did he come back on the phone and say that they would see me in 20 min and that they would have to figure something out for the other guy. Beyond comprehension! When I arrived, the man said to me "good thing you prepaid" which blew me away. I asked how he thought it was appropriate to reassign a rental when it had only been 30 min (the time they finally answered the phone) without calling the cell phone they had on my order etc etc...Needless to say, there was no good answer! Insanely frustrating morning. After leaving, I had to pull in to a gas station to clean THE INSIDE OF THE WINDSHIELD with a squeegee!! Very frustrating reservation process with UHaul on this one which had me second guessing the next time I need a rental anyway but this Pawcatuck location/experience may have sealed the deal. If anymore cares to hear more I am willing to chat with a manager.Michael M.

the people at this location didn't know how to log onto the system, they were not prepared when i arrived even though i called ahead both 2 days before arrival and the day of. we had to wait 30 minutes. while they tried to figure it out.Lucas D.

Equipment was terrible. AC is broke (on a 90+ degree day), one outlet for charging accessories was non-functional. Windows were filthy & hard to see through. No truck even near the size needed was not on site as promised but out on the road. Had to wait hours for the unit. This is after being sent to THREE other facilities of which not one had was was promised "to be on-site & available". U Haul communications systems is abysmal for equipment tracking. While the West Store business is a glorified junkyard the owner/manager was quite personable, apologetic, and helpful by not charging for two hand trucks & 30 moving pads hence the ONLY reason I would recommend this location to a friend. BUT with U Hauls tracking issues I will be hard pressed to ever recommend U Haul to anyone but an enemy. I "lost" 6 hours of loading time because I had to chase down a truck at three locations. I (The Customer) have to find YOUR equipment!!!! Ridiculous!Stephen L.

This experience with UHAUL was extremely troublesome. Not only was the pick-up location over an hour from my residence and even further from my destination, when I arrived to pick up the tuck for my scheduled 8:00am appointment, there was no staff on site. When I attempted to inquire about this pick-up location, I was merely give some policy directed answer-no accountability on UHAUL. It should be noted in my account, that I was under the impression I was picking up my UHAL in Manchester, CT which was only 10 minutes from my move. This pickup process as well as having to wait for the staff at this location created many barriers to my moving day-which we know is already a stressful situation. I would recommend to those looking to secure UHAUL reservations to ask questions-otherwise you will simply be disappointed. I for one will not be booking again with UHAUL anytime soon!Ryan S.
Problem was with uhaul.com I guess and not this location in particular. We reserved/confirmed trailer a week in advance for Westerly, RI location, day before they decided to change us s to Pawcatuck, CT location (further away), the evening before they called and told us they decided they would be closed (due to locker tag sale at their location) Spent HOURS on the phone with Uhaul on hold, being transferred - Traffic Manager acted like she was doing me a favor by helping me secure a trailer that we had reserved a week prior. In the end, learned that you cannot rely on your confirmed reservation with UHAUL 1. that they will actually have a trailer or 2. that the location will actually service you and your reservation.raymond C.
