I paid twice for Moving Supplies that I did not use. I had an online supply purchase of $133.71. I then went to Hawkstone UHaul to pick up my supplies. I was forced to pay $64.40 for the same supplies otherwise I could not receive my moving supplies. I then decided to cancel most of my supply order and took but the items to Hawkwood. I did not receive any credit and the mgr. took away my order promising to credit my credit card later. He did not do this. The Hawkwood mgr is unscrupulous and deceiving. I was taken advantage of and I am hopping mad. I deserve a refund of at least $64.40 by my calculations. I have a summary of all the related expenses on a spreasheet if you're interested. I reserved my truck in advance because I had a job scheduled within a tight time window. When I arrived to pick it up, it took about an hour and a half just to receive the key. The staff member at the counter insisted that I needed a credit card to rent the truck. I explained multiple times that I could rent using cash or debit, but he refused to listen until I contacted their main office. The head office had to walk him through the process. As a result, I was an hour and a half late to my job. By the time I finished the move, it was after 5 p.m. I still had a couch to dispose of, but the landfill was closed after 5 on Saturday and all day Sunday. That meant I was stuck keeping the truck for three days, which cost me significantly more money and nearly cost me a client. This location appears to be poorly trained and unwilling to listen to customers. My experience was extremely frustrating and expensive. I would not recommend this location.
