The man in charge was very hard to understand and confused. The location was 30 mins out of the way and honestly very gross.

I went to the location on my email and was told by a virtual manager that they had moved my location and I should have been notified of that fact 24-48 hrs prior. I received that notification 15 minutes after talking to the virtual manager. I went to the next location they sent me which was a Breaking Bad looking broke down camper to which had no live person or virtual person. I called the number on the camper and was told to call 1-800-go U-Haul to which a very rude woman answered and informed me that I had called the wrong U-Haul number and gave me another number. I called the next number to which I did get a very nice female named Cara who was patient and helpful and was finally able to get the truck. When we started the truck the gas tank was empty and said 14 miles to empty so we went to the nearest gas station and put in $40 and brought the truck home and went out to eat supper. When we returned the smell of gas in my yard was overwhelming and discovered that gas was all over the ground under the truck and the gas gauge was empty again. We called U-Haul and they sent out a man named Clayborn from West Columbia an hour later. He came out and plugged the hole in the gas tank to fix it and was finished by 10pm. I asked him how was I going to get credited for my $40 of gas I lost and he said I needed the receipt for it plus the next receipt for replacing the gas but I did not ask for a receipt for the first $40 not realizing I would need it. Upon returning the truck I had to take 7 pictures and do it on the app since of course there was no one at the camper return location. The original price ended up being $30 more than what I was quoted also. This was by far the worst experience I have ever had and will not use U-Haul again and I’m out an extra $40 for the gas that leaked out.

Matthew CI have used U-Haul now about 4 times in my life. Never have I felt as catered to as I did working with Gerald. He truly makes you feel like family, with his warming manner and understanding of your specific situation. He was available to help us with our burden of needing to return a 26' truck with an auto trailer, and a 4x9 trailer. Then due to us needing to do one more trip was able to rent us a 10' truck to finish the job. He is the best employee I have ever worked with in regard to customer service anywhere. His shops are humble and could use a renovation. If U-Haul is willing to help him out I believe it could bolster even more sales.

Joshua HThe 1st location had bugs. Guy was pushy and had up pick up the truck in a different location. Then the truck broke down. Leak in my new driveway. I called the guy and he was not helpful. Finally a Uhaul helped me get a different truck at another location. Then I got doubled billed for the extra miles at new locations. U-Haul is suppose to reburse me. Hopeful that all goes through, but we will see

David WRepresentative went "the extra mile" by making sure the auto transporter was available & ready at pickup time. They picked up a transporter the night before from another location to save me time and travel to the other location. They helped me hook it up in the rain, answered all questions and was there to help un-hook it when returning it. Also issued a discount for returning it earlier than expected. Lenard MThe man running the place changed my reservation without my knowledge, causing me all kinds of wasted time and overcharges and even bank charges due to my being charged more than I was supposed to be charged. He seemed really confused and ended up removing the insurance I had purchased and insisted that I was the one that said to take it off. I would never use this facility again.
MARTIN WThe truck had not been cleaned prior to my rental. The owner/manager was clueless and completely messed up my reservation multiple times, resulting in overcharges and a LOT of wasted time on my part. The facility is run down.
MARTIN WIn the past we have used Uhaul and got our deposit back the same day as when we turned the truck in. This time, we still haven’t gotten our deposit back. We turned the truck in yesterday. Times are tough, having to wait 3-7 days on money that was easily taken from us, is ridiculous. You guys should work on that.

JAMES DThis was a terrible idea experience all the way around. My reservation was routed to this location because my original location was closed. When I arrived there was no one there. I called the number and was told the computer was stolen and they could not do the contract there even though they accepted my reservation and was contacted to be expecting me. I was told I would need to travel to yet another location. I informed them that I had no ride, and at which point they did the contract over the phone and over an hour later I received the keys to the vehicle.

Chris HResesrvation # 11345104 .This was the most awful experience. I understand that the pick up location may be a different location than where I reserved the U-Haul. However there are 5 dealers within five minutes of my residence and I was given a location 20 miles away. I get to the pickup location at 8:52 a.m. and there was no one there . There is a camper there with a note on the door to call a number for pick ups.I call that number and was instructed that I had to go to another location 18 miles away to sign the contract and get the key. I get to this location just to wait an hour and a half to get processed. My pickup location was 5085 Platt Springs Rd, Lexington SC . I had to go to 4510 Augusta Rd , Lexington SC to sign the contract and get keys ( This location is less than 5 miles from my home) that had PLENTY 26 foot trucks on the lot. After getting the keys I then had to go BACK ACROSS TOWN to pick the U-Haul up. I had movers at my place that were there since 9:30. I had to pay them for the time they arrived and for the duration of the move. 40 miles of additional travel in my personal vehicle and $95 additional to movers that were on time at my home , while I was waiting an hour and a half just to sign a contract. As well, I could not return the U-Haul to the facility I got the keys from, I had to return it back at the Platt Springs Rd location. This was just a HUGE inconvenience and an even BIGGER headache. Additional expenses . Ridiculous! A huge disappointment. These independent contractors do not hold up your trusted name. I work for the government and there is no way I would drop the ball on their trusted name and/or mission . Sharon R. Durst

I don't know if it is SC roads or the tow package but that was the jerkiest ride I have ever had taken except maybe a hay wagon across a corn field. Yes I turned off the tow package. Loaded it was a little better but empty it was awful.

Stacey Jjust felt the self check out was a bit lengthy due to all the required photos that had to be taken. I honestly felt I was a uhaul employee vs dropping my keys off. The employee however was super helpful with check in.
Amanda WReturned the truck on Saturday afternoon. Very hard to find location. No street signs stating it was U-Haul. We found one U-Haul sign on a telephone pole, no street numbers indicating that was the address for drop off. Call the number that was left on the door of the trailer to call and there was no answer. Ended up calling U-Haul national number for help and answers.

Dennis PIt's a lady running a business out of a dirty run down motor home. Not only is it uncomfortable but it's kind of embarrassing with the prices that I paid, to have to step up in a place like that. Definitely will not recommend! TERRIBLE!
