The employees were not wearing masks in a very small room. When I left the door cracked open to let some air ventilate and explained politely while I was doing so, one employee rushed at me screaming in my face, getting very close to me, and slammed the door shut. She yelled “it's fine to not wear masks since we're 6 feet apart,” but she got much closer to me than that. Not to mention it took a long time to actually get my truck due to technology issues on their end. It was an extremely unpleasant and potentially unsafe experience.

The process was way to complicated..... not because of user error, but because of system issues with UHaul and missing information. The truck was dirty when we got it, there was a dead mouse in the back.

Stacy was excellent at check in. Truck ran fine with no complaints (except it's not exactly the "gentle" ride as advertised, and cad is quite loud). Only irritation was at late-night check in. Too many photos to be taken and process took more than 10 minutes online.

The approval process took longer than what I expected, roughly 15 minutes. I expected that the approval process would have been shorter than that. The truck was clean and once I was approved it was very easy to get the keys and go.

Make sure the truck is cleaned. Lots of rocks in the back and 2 lots from a previous move.

When picking up using phone, it would not allow me to pick up without sharing my location. Couldn't figure that out so had to call for assistance. Phone pick up should be streamlined to make easier.

Even though its states in the contract about email to check rental back in, it might help to let customer know that checking out when you bring rental item needs to be done before leaving property. I didn't realize the return was based on GPS of your phone. Printing for me was small and missed the part about returning check is on line.

Everything was fine for pick up and drop off, although I have to note that they said the truck was "full" of gas when we picked it up - and it wasn't. It was almost a quarter tank down. So when I returned it 30 miles later, I had to top it off with almost ten gallons, which I certainly hadn't used myself.

When reserving the UHaul, I was under the impression that using the app when picking the truck up would expedite the process. This was not the case, and I had trouble with it. I'm not sure if it was just a fluke or poor service in the area. I ended up going into the building to retrieve the keys. I'd give the app a try again, with the hopes it was a one time issue.

Vehicle smelled like car urine, pickup location was very very dirty. I was also charged with a cleaning fee when I left to truck better than I found it.

No issues with the pickup location but Uhaul corporate is worhtless. The 24/7 pickup system didnt work for me and I was stuck on hold for over an hour with several people who were all of no help because they said that "wasnt their department" and kept tranfering me to the wrong person. I was on hold for so long my phone died so I was not able to pick the vehicle up during the original time window, and spend additional money moving things because plans were changed without a truck.

2nd time I have rented from this location first time they did not have a truck I ordered I had to get a smaller one and make several trips. This time they did not have the truck I ordered so they gave me a larger one it did not make it a mile and a half down the road and overheated they had to have it towed. I had to go to a different location 8 miles away and pay for the additional mileage not to mention two hours wasted that I was having to pay movers for by the hour I feel like I should be credited back my money.

The credit card machine was acting up and delayed me by a solid 20 minutes or so during a busy moving day. I'm aware this is no ones fault. The lady was polite and apologetic. However, after all if this, I go to get my truck and they gave me the wrong size (15 foot instead if 17). There weren't any other trucks in the lot to exchange and I was already running behind, so I just took it.

Night-time lights on the trailer did not work. Person who checked us out showed no concern and only said that the folks who turned it in last didn't report it. There was no offer to fix the trailer or get a different one for us. We took the trailer anyway, but as a result were not able to drive after dark, making our trip a day longer than expected. We know this wasn't an issue with our truck, because a week previously we had a different trailer hooked up and nighttime lights worked fine.

My relatively poor experience with U-haul wasn't the fault of the Hilliard location. I had no trouble checking out. But the return process is way too convoluted, to the point that it borders on silly. Will attempt to not be a repeat U-haul customer in the future if I can avoid it.
