I have rented from U-Haul before, but this was the first time I experienced such poor service and unacceptable conditions. I made a reservation online and declined the insurance option. However, when I arrived, I was told I had to wait about three hours because the previous customer had not returned the vehicle on time. Since I specifically needed this location, I agreed to wait. When I finally received the truck, I later discovered that insurance had been added to my rental without my consent. I ended up paying an extra $16+, which I did not expect. Additionally, the vehicle condition was unacceptable. The inspection form did not mention any existing damage, yet the truck had visible damage on the bumper and a cracked windshield. On top of that, the vehicle was extremely dirty, especially the windows — to the point where visibility was poor. I had to clean the windows myself before driving. Overall, I am very dissatisfied with this experience. The unexpected charges, poor vehicle condition, and long delay made this rental extremely frustrating.
