The pick-up location was not open to pickup the trailer. Your website says that the location was open. BIG misinformation on your part! I had to call customer service. The customer advisor couldn’t find another trailer nearby. She suggested that I do the hookup since a service person would not be there until the next day. I hooked up the trailer and performed the photo uploads, since there was NO U-HAUL person to do it. All in all, the pickup cost me more than an hour of my time. To make matters worse, once loaded and underway the next morning, the trailer was not serviceable! The tires were either grossly out of balance or merely defective. I had to stop at a U-Haul center to swap trailers. This cost me another hour of my time!

I arrived at the rental location at 8:15 for an 8:30 pick up. The app check in took about 10-15 minutes. No problem. I left the location at 8:30 as planned. The truck only had 1/2 tank of gas so i had to fill up first since I was going a good distance. That was unexpected; usually the tank is full when you pick it up and expected to be full when you drop it off. I dropped it off at 8:30 am the next day as planned but with 1/4 more gas than when I pick it up; an extra expense I didn’t need! Then I got charged a full extra day for the 15 minutes I spent going thru the check in process. Had I known that I would be charged an extra day I would have dropped it off 15 minutes earlier. I won’t rent again!!

QUANTIA EOne area that needs serious improvement is ensuring that the equipment customers book online is actually available. On Saturday, I reserved a truck four days in advance, but when I arrived, it wasn’t there. I ended up driving to four different locations before finally finding one, which pushed me back more than three hours behind schedule. Because of that delay, all of the help I had lined up was no longer available, and I was forced to move everything by myself. On top of the inconvenience, I was charged almost $200 for only renting the truck for four hours, and I wasn’t offered any kind of compensation. This experience was extremely frustrating, disappointing, and completely unacceptable. I will never rent a truck from U-Haul again, and I hope future customers don’t have to go through what I did.
