The person who checked us out kept at it even though his computer was not working and had to do the process on his cell phone and then found that he had been hit by gas thieves and had damaged the fuel line on the first truck he gave us. He kept at it until we were on the road.

First I would like to say I would give 5 stars to Tom who is the area manager for Florence, Oregon. He was fantastic and so was the older gentleman who eventually arrived and was the one who ended up helping me because apparently the guy, James, who was supposed to be there never showed up during the entire 90 minutes it took for us to get our vehicles. And then one of the gas tanks turned out to be completely empty. I called Tom and told him that I was planning to return the truck is empty as I received it. Tom suggested that the gas was probably siphoned. If that is a problem then why not get locking gas caps that are keyed to the vehicle to which they are attached? That would be a very easy fix for such problems. I think James who works at the Florence Oregon location should be fired. He did not even bother to call me to tell me he wasn't there or might be late. That's just irresponsible. His cell phone number was left on the door, but when I called it his voice mailbox was full, so I could not even leave a message. Who hires these people anyway? If you can't take responsibility for the job you have, no matter how menial, you shouldn't have that job because there are plenty of other people who would be happy to do the work. I would like to say that I have moved more than the average person and I have always used U-Haul trucks. As a general rule they are very good and their prices are reasonable. That's why I would use them again. This was just a not-so-great experience based on one individual not doing his job.

The person who checked out the equipment to me was fairly new to the process but well versed in the procedure and made it happen easily and quickly. There was a problem with the electrical connnector on my Jeep not matching the trailer connector. She arranged for an adapter to be made up and again showed concern for my safety and was expeditious. She could also be on the local chamber of commerce as she was informative and positive in her description of the surrounding areas to Florence Oregon. Overall very helpful. 5 stars.

The tow gear was not working, you get 3 miles per gallon using it, and it sounds like the engine was about to collapse? I did not need to use the toll gear, but it comes on when you shut the truck off. That’s all.

Pretty upset about the mileage charge as I got rates the day before and it was 89 cents a mile and I was charged $1.09 per mile
