We rented over the phone and did not discover that a code was necessary to be downloaded from an app until we arrived to pick up truck. Fortunately, the person we talked with to reserve the truck was available and responded to our situation quickly and enabled us to complete the transaction. He gets high marks for recovering from the problem but it appears that he was the initial cause of the confusion by not mentioning the app deal.
