The process was quick, but different from every other time I’ve rented a U-Haul. The owner sent the contract to my phone without going over it. I left and came back to pick it up a couple hours later. The keys were left inside of it. Once I started it up, I noticed that the gas was under 1/4. I returned it with the same amount. Today the owner called to say that my card was declined for the fees associated with mileage. As I was offering another card, he began to tell me that I bought it back with no gas. I acknowledged that he was correct, and that it had no gas when I picked it up. He disagreed and stated that the contract shows that it was 3/4 full. His tone immediately became very aggressive.I repeatedly asked him not to speak to me in that manner, and asked him if he could be mistaken. Although I was as calm and respectful in spite of him talking over me, while saying that I was insulting his intelligence. I told him that I was going to record the call, because he was being so aggressive. As I wasn’t able to have a productive conversation, I hung up. He called me back and continued to speak to me in an unprofessional manner and I hung up again. He called back and I did t answer. He then texted me. I didn’t respond as I was working and at this point very uncomfortable. He called again and left a voicemail saying that a promissory note was being issued and that I would have to pay for the gas and mileage Wfie’s being able to rent from U-Haul again.

Preston MNo one at loacation to meet me. Had to hook up the trailer by myself. Fortunitly I was able to do this but not everyone would be able.
