The rental location was not our original choice but due to the original location rescheduling our pick up for a much later time with no phone call we were forced to go to the new pick up location. The girl there was very nice and very helpful. She did however tell us that there would not be a defined drop off location and that we would be able to drop the truck off wherever. (See notes in drop off location for continued details) I only recommend that if a change needs to be made, that the customer gets a phone call. We were not given a phone call or a reason why it had gotten changed until I called the store to figure out what was going on and even then I didn’t get much until I asked to be transferred to the scheduling department.

I reserved an appliance dolly, not on truck at check out, called clerk, had no interest in getting it to me as my car was at dealership. Corporate wS called, Regional Manager brought a dolly to me. Very poor customer service.

Dear U-Haul, You asked me for feedback on my recent experience. At first I didn’t want to say anything, but I realized you can’t fix something if you don’t know it’s broken. I’ll provide the facts and you can decide for yourself if I had a pleasant experience dealing with your company. My plan was simple. Move the remainder of my belongings from Columbus, MS area to Pensacola, FL area. My plan was to drive my personal truck to Columbus, Mississippi and rent a 20 foot U-Haul 20 truck and an auto-transport. My wife was going to join me there and I’d have her drive my truck while I drove the U-Haul truck and pulled her car on the transport. I initially tried to reserve the truck and transport on line. I didn’t like the results since it barley gave the miles I needed to haul my belongings. It didn’t include any mileage to pick up the truck. So I decided to visit a local U-Haul and speak to a real person. I worked with the pleasant Manager (Shana) at Q2 Storage on Blue Angel Parkway in Pensacola. She was very helpful and helped me set things up so I could pick up your 20 foot truck and transport near my MS house. Tropical Storm Alberto changed all our plans. My wife couldn’t join me so I now had to adjust and put my ’04 Toyota Tundra double cab truck on the transport. So I called U-Haul with my change and was told after a few moments of checking their computer that “yes” my truck would fit. So I head off to Mississippi thinking all is well. Tuesday, 29 May, I receive a phone call from Meridian MS U-Haul Regional stating that my equipment was not available in Columbus and I’d have to drive about 50 miles to Northport AL. I was given a credit of 50 miles but that’s not the point. I still had to drive my own vehicle the extra 50 miles and pay for gas to get there and pay the extra mileage credit in gas in the U-Haul to haul my truck back. Not seeing any choice, I head to Northport on 30 May for my 1000 AM appointment. When I arrived, I noted a single 26 foot truck and along with an auto transport. Looking at the transport I started doubting that my truck would fit. The Manager there called his Regional Manager and he said we should hook the transport to the U-Haul and see if my truck would fit. He also said he’d let me have the larger truck at the 20 foot price. Again, I’d have to spend more gas used in an even larger vehicle. To keep from boring you, after numerous attempts, my truck would not fit. By the way, according to the computer the 20 foot truck I was told I’d get wasn’t due to arrive at that location until 1 Jun – two days from when I was promised it would be there. So now I had to re-evaluate everything. I departed the Northport location and went to eat and think. I’ll be perfectly honest, I called several of your competitors but they all needed at least a two day notice to rent me a vehicle. I was due out of my house by 200 PM the next day. So now my options get more limited. I finally decide on

I rented a truck online the previous day and received a confirmation number for early pickup. I arrived at 0715 hours and used my phone to conduct another live activation check in by taking a photo of my ID, of myself and damage to the truck which during the process received an invalid verification. I then called multiple times, over 6 and spoke with multiple Customer service rep. I was first told they couldn't conduct a verification but I would have to wait until the store opens. I was transferred multiple times even to a verification agent at one point who I thought was going to help me we somehow got disconnected and she didn't call me back, which I thought was unsatisfactory. I called another time and was transferred to a verification agent, however; the phone rang for over 2 minutes and no-one picked up. I spoke to several more Customer service rep. and they didn't know what to do other than wait until the store opens at 9 am. I called back trying to get another Verification agent and this Service rep. said she's never heard of this and again I would have to wait until it opens.I then tried to use the kiosk and the speaker on the kiosk was so poor that I couldn't hear the Customer service rep. and asked them to call me. After 3 attempts, a Customer rep. did call me but wasn't able to provide any assistance. At some point someone did contact the Manager of the store because when she arrived at 0900 hours, she asked if I got everything done which I explained to her no, and the customer services was extremely poor in how they handled my situation. This system of early check in for rental has to be fixed where if there is an issue of online verification that you can speak with a Customer rep. who can assist you. To say my experience was probably the worst I've had to an understatement. I will never use this service again....

I've dropped off equipment TWICE at this location. Their hours aren't posted on the doors. I've yet to actually go IN the office or see any workers. Apparently this uHaul is closed on weekends?!
