The steps to pick up the U-Haul were confusing - there was a picture on one of the first screens showing how to unlock the lock. As we've never done this before, we tired unlocking the lock using the code for 15 minutes and nothing was working. We called customer service and didn't get hold of someone for at least 15 minutes and they were able to help us. Meanwhile, getting my picture and ID verified took at least 20 minutes. This should be specified beforehand so you are aware that this cuts into the time you are renting the U-Haul. We lost 40 minutes overall from the confusing directions on the first page, as well as, getting verified from a "live" person. In addition, I ordered dollies to make the moving easier and there were none in the truck when we opened it. No, we did not get charged for them, however, this is unacceptable to not provide what is being requested. Had our apartment complex not had a dolly for us to use, we wouldn't have been able to move our furniture into our new apartment. I don't think I will be able to count on U-Haul for any future moving needs again.

The U-Haul representative was very professional and courteous. I would recommend this location to others.

I returned the truck with a full tank of gas but the receipt shows just under a full tank...not sure why.

The employees who “set up” the trailer onto my truck hitch had 0 idea how to attach the trailer to the hitch. Had I not helped show how to do it, they would have let me drive off without it being attached whatsoever. It is a matter of time before they cause a serious injury to happen... something should be done.

This will be my last time ever using Uhaul. I made my Uhaul reservation weeks in advance to pick up a truck at the location 3 miles from my house. But two days before the reservation date, I was called and told there were no trucks available for me, and I instead had to pick up one 23 miles away. Not only is this a very inconvenient and time-consuming change, I also was told I would have to use self check-in since this new location would not be open at the time I reserved the truck. It was difficult to find the truck, and when we did, the self check-in process would not complete due to an error message. We called the customer service phone number, and no one answered. We called the closest open Uhaul, and the lady had no idea how to help us. Basically, we had to wait an hour and a half for the location to open so we could be helped. I could not believe how inconvenient this whole process was, and how little support or care we got in return.

Difficult to find

Attempted to return truck on Sunday afternoon - could not find it from Hillsborough street as it is definitely not clearly marked! Fortunately, drove around back & saw trucks parked. Tried to use online to return the truck, as those directions are printed on the key dropbox. Would not accept my "location". UHaul needs to be clearly visible on HIllsborough street. I would never recommend this location and will never use it again.

Page Plus Wireless was my 4th attempt to drop off a trailer. The original location, obtained from U-Haul's website and on my contract, did not take trailers. The place they referred me to was full as was the next place. Page Plus Wireless was most helpful and accommodating, which salvaged the drop off experience. U-haul gets a Poor, Page Plus gets Excellent.
