Hire better help. The agent was disinterested and rather rude, did not help with the inspection and when we informed him that the truck was meant to be a One Way rental, did not inform us as to the problem this would cause EVERYONE. I did not know until a day after taking the rental that the truck was a location-owned vehicle and was never to leave the local area and could not be dropped off at a different location without paying a penalty of over $1300!!! The original contract was done online and the website did not inform us of that fact, though it did not allow me to put in other than an In Town reservation. My rational was that we would talk to someone before picking up the equipment and get that changed to One Way. But there was no phone number for the location on the reservation website, and they were closed until the morning of pick up. Nevertheless, the agent was informed at pick up. I don't know if he might have told my driver that the contract couldn't be changed; certainly he didn't inform him of the consequences of not returning to the origin location. I got a call that evening from U-Haul (corporate or local is unknown, probably local) because they had not received the equipment back, and I explained it was at the One Way destination and U-Haul there would not accept it. I was told the contract would be different because of the change - that was fine. I asked to speak to a supervisor or owner so I could be sure the situation was understood and was told someone would get back to me. No one did. I made four phone calls to various numbers, went to transfers to other numbers where call was dropped or phone wasn't answered. Though everyone was courteous, this is horrible Customer Service, leaving someone in the dark about what the actual problem was and why I couldn't get it resolved. Finally I got through to someone ("Ed") who listened, understood, worked out a solution and we got it all resolved. But because AI would not let me rent for One Way and did not explain it, and the agent did not offer that information (and attempts to rectify through the U-Haul Mobile App hit a wall at "unable to change status"), this unscheduled emergency rental cost over $1300 more than it was supposed to. My boyfriend and I are both on Social Security incomes, he is a Marine Vet. This was a financially devastating event for us. I am sure it was a very scary situation for the owner of the U-Haul equipment as it appeared at first like it may have been "stolen" and ended up 5 hours away from where it was supposed to be. I give One Star for grief caused, a Half Star for the Customer Service system in general, but 5 stars for "Ed" who got it resolved.

DAVID BI never had a utility dolly or blankets that I was charged for. And I was charged two days for them. These guys are asshats. Refund my 40 dollars for the equipment please
