Renting from a business that offers u-haul as a side service has been very frustrating with regards to availability as well as paper work/invoicing errors. Try to locate a larger volume dealership that rents trucks.

Truck was sub par. Underpowered. Brakes were horrible. Air conditioner quit. One headlight was out. Get this truck maintained. Transmission also felt like it was slipping.

It took about a half an hour to go through the paperwork part with the cashier who was inexperienced, while the more experienced cashier was on the phone. It was difficult to get the trailer on and off my trailer hitch. I rented a larger enclosed trailer, which is hard for women to handle. I rent trailers often. I was able to help some. They sent me out alone because I had male helpers they assumed that they could get the trailer on, which they could not. The trailers are a distance from the store, so I walked back and asked for help. The inexperienced cashier struggled until the more came to assist, then we got it on. I had pretty much the same experience returning the trailer. It took 20 minutes or so to park it close to where they wanted it and then get it detached. The problem that I am writing about is being over charged. I was charged for two days instead of one. I only had the trailer from 2:30 pm until 10 am. I called twice to point this out and ask the extra charge to be taken off. Both times the man had reasons why there were two charges and said that initially the one charge would disappear, it was just an estimate and would come off my card. Then when the charge was finalized, he said it was due to changing the return time, which was due to the inordinate amount of time I took to pick the trailer up. I initially thought I could get back before they closed, but when it took so long we agreed that I would come back when they opened. The inexperienced cashier didn't know how to manage this in the system. the man on the phone, the owner, said he would credit my account yesterday. As of now, no credit has been issued. I would like the extra day taken off asap. please. Pam McGarry 814-406-5437

First of all the 2 people who run the store were over a half hour late. I talked to the owner and said they would be there in about 5 minutes that turned into over half an hour. He suggested that to save time I should hook up the 6 x 12 trailer by myself. When they got there, they didn't even check to see if I hooked it up right and the inside was very dirty. Then the printer wouldn't work right, so that took another 15 minutes to fix. All in all it took over an hour of my time to get on the road. I can see that U-Haul is basically letting ANYONE rent their equipment now, what a joke!

Where to start? The truck was not available at my local location. I had to travel to get the truck. The facility didn’t open until 9 and the movers were coming at 9:30. Which would’ve been tight scheduling in itself but the fact that my order was wrong and I didn’t get the dolly, straps, or blankets I ordered really put things over the edge. We had to run to Lowe’s to get said items to the tune of $120. Then meet the movers late. Which we were paying them $125/hr. So a $115 Uhaul cost well over $400. Not impressed at all.
