First, the location for pickup was changed the day before rental (why can’t the app show you available equipment for a date that is accurate - this is ridiculous, I booked it months in advance - I’m sure a smart AI could jenga the equipment appropriately). Secondly, online pickup was not possible the day of pickup (as scheduled the day before on the phone with Uhaul when they changed location) bc the location did not properly check in the truck from the last rental the night before, therefore when we arrived at appointed time (8am), we could not pick it up thru the mobile pickup procedure (no key was left). The location was unreachable and Uhaul assistance could not help. The 9:30am opening time came and went, the staff finally arrived 9:45am, did not check mileage or gas in truck. Then we were expected to do self check?? After waiting 2 hrs?? I had movers that were waiting and over their time. Then Uhaul charged fuel charge even though it was never checked to begin with. We have photos of the fuel and mileage before and after. Eventually they refunded the fuel charge and gave us a $50 inconvenience fee…we were 2.5 hrs behind schedule….i think $50 is a joke for $450 rental + $200 movers that were over time.
