If you could find a way to make this a bit cheaper, I would use this service all the time. Basically cost $60 to rent the pickup including gas. If you could get the price down to $30, I would probably use it every month

The man who helped me was the same man who called me the day before I returned the truck. He was incredibly kind and welcomed me to Alaska and told me he was glad that I had a safe trip. Just a very warm, friendly guy. Overall, I had a great experience with U-Haul this time around.

This location was the best Uhaul experience ever. I had no hassles, and no added stress. I felt like I was being assisted instead of buying a service. We were very unhappy with Uhaul. Although I reserved more than a week in advance, the Uhaul was not at the location reserved. We were not notified until 1/2 hr before the scheduled pickup that we would have to pick up in another location. That location was much farther and as we had flown in, we were having to take a taxi to the pickup location, costing us even more time and money. Uhaul should have transferred the truck to the scheduled location instead of making it our problem. The person at Southside was very nice and very efficient; our issue was with Uhaul for making the change with minimal communication and minimal notice.

South side Storage has excellent customer service. Very professional, helpful and personable. They need a better variety of vehicles on location as they just had one of each of the smaller trucks. Ended up with a van as I was a walk-in but it worked out.

When I checked in today, the representative stated they didn't find my reservation on file. I was concerned because of the planning we did in advance. Used online service. Luckily there was a van turned in the night before. Facility is very difficult to find.

I reserved my truck online a couple of days before my move to include moving blankets and a dolly. Chose my locations for pick up and drop off and that was easy. There was a warning that my pick up location may change. I was prepared for that. But I was not prepared for everything else. I received an email for early check in so I wouldn't have to wait in any lines when I went to pick up my truck. I thought that was awesome, so I did early, and there was an option to prepay, so I did that too. I received a confirmation email stating the day of my reservation. I went to the first location I chose which was on Abbott and Lake Otis, the girl behind the counter barely acknowledged me and just said, we don't see your reservation. I looked at my email again and found that they changed the location. I asked if she could give me directions, she just said for me to Google it. So I left and I Googled it and it was still difficult to find. I found it, and, by the way, the temp is -20. My son and I go inside and I said with a smile, I'm here to pick up my truck rental. He asks my name, can't find me until I give him the actual contract #. Then he looks at me and says that I should've called. My truck is frozen in the yard and it will take 20 min to warm it up. I said that's fine, I can wait. He said that I'm early and there will be a fee for picking it up early. I said well, how much is the fee? No answer. I told him that I could come back but that my email doesn't specify a time. He said he should've called me yesterday and he was going to call me in 20 min. Then headed out to start the truck without telling me how much extra. When he got back, he said that a one-way drop off is extra because I'm taking his truck out of the yard. I explained that I already paid for everything. All of this should be taken care of. I showed him my app for my credit card stating that I paid for this showing U-Haul and the amount. He didn't believe me. He was about to run my card again and I told him that i feel likd I am getting screwed. I had to go sit in my car to have a cry because what was an exciting day for me to move into my new home has now become a traumatic experience. As I was walking out to my car in disbelief and with my heart hurting, he says, oh I see it here that you have paid for it and it is a one way. I still had to go and cry and pray with my pastor on the phone in my car. I was treated like I did not matter and that he did not even care about me or believe a word I said. I will definitely look to another company for my next move and so will my entire church fellowship.
