These 3rd party drop-off locations are an absolute nightmare. Location was of no help whatsoever, and worse than "poor." I was told over the phone, (the man who was working had no idea what to do and had to call his manager) that I had to create an entire new reservation online and the entire experience was an absolute joke. I had a prior reservation at an official UHaul location and this location was some third party location and there was a language barrier and the entire experience was aggravating to the point where I would have cancelled everything and hired some other company had I had the option. I was bounced between three different people when I called to complain and ask for a discount on the reservation, and it was obvious that nobody at UHaul was interested in helping me or having any actual concern for my situation. Meanwhile I had movers waiting for me at the original UHaul location as I had items in storage that needed to be loaded first and the clock was clicking. The policy of re-directing clients to other locations to pick up trucks at some location other than where they made the reservation (in person) is a joke and very much is an inconvenience to the end user, at least to me for sure. I cannot express how frustrating and irritating this entire experience has been. In the future I will never ever rent from UHaul again unless I have absolutely no other option. The worst customer service from that standpoint I have ever experienced. I have used UHaul on many occasions in the past with no problem, but this time it was a massive problem and cost me a dear amount of extra time and money all because I was told to drive over and pick up the truck at a different location. Had my sister not been available I would not have been able to make this happen as I would have not had any ability to pick up the truck and then for someone to drive my car back to the original site where I had rented the truck to begin with. What a horrible way of doing business. There is zero reason the truck should have been dropped off at this 3rd party in the first place. It was about 5 minutes away from the main UHaul location and there is zero reason why the truck should have been there to begin with and it was a major problem for me to go and get. Horrible customer service when nobody at UHaul was willing to go over to that location and pick up the truck and drive it back to the location where I had rented it and had things in storage I had to load first, and the two men I had hired to help load everything that day had to wait over an hour while I was forced to go to some offsite location that wasn't even a UHaul official location but some 3rd party convenience store in a very suspect part of the city, didn't even feel safe there and I had to wait for about 15 minutes while about 8 to 10 people in front of me were buying lotto tickets. This has been about as far away from a professional and efficient business arrangement as I can ever remember. Furthermore if I am not compensated for this entire experience with a significant discount from the amount I have paid then you can be sure I am going to write a scalding review on the internet. I am still very angry over the treatment I have received and I will never forget what a sh.. storm this experience has been. These sort of things happen when a company becomes so big and basically has no competition then they can treat a customer and inconvenience a customer any way they want because they can, and there is nothing a client can even do about it. Just like now, I am rather positive I won't be compensated any money for this massively negative experience because it hardly matters to UHaul what frustration a client or customer may have because it simply doesn't matter when it most likely will have no impact on whether or not you rent out another truck to anyone in the future. Furthermore I did not appreciate the attitude of the man at the UHaul location who set this entire fiasco in motion and told me I had to go to this 3rd party location to pick up the truck. What I "nice" surprise to be told upon arrival with movers in tow that I had to go somewhere to pick up the truck. The last thing I needed was to have some UHaul employee have an attitude about it when I complained about the inconvenience. I could go on for awhile about the entire experience but I'll leave it at that.
