When we went to return the trailer, the gate was locked and we were confused as what to do with the trailer. We were very Leary of leaving it where we did. We took pictures for the return process. Not a good return location as it was outside the locked gate. Anyone could drive away with it!

Well... where to start. We scheduled the truck to be picked up in Grand Forks, ND something like two months before needed. At just before 5:00 PM two days prior to pickup... so let's clarify, that was about 8 business hours before the truck was to picked up at the scheduled time of 7:00 AM...so, the person who called me said the truck was not available and wanted to talk about options. I assumed that meant a smaller truck with a trailer or some such thing. The next morning I was on the phone with U haul at the time they are supposed to open... I was on hold for about 22 minutes before I could talk to someone. The terrible news was that a truck was not available as scheduled in Grand Forks and it was up to ME to go to either Park Rapids, MN or Bemidji, MN to get a truck... what the hell!!!!! We had a moving crew lined up to load the truck in Grand Forks at 8:00 AM; scheduled time to pick up the truck was 7:00 AM. Some GM told me the truck could be available by 5:00 PM the day AFTER the scheduled agreement!!! I am completely flabbergasted by this... can this really seriously be your business model!??!! If the equipment is not there for some issue on your end it is the CUSTOMER'S responsibility to drive hours and literally hundreds of miles to retrieve a truck!!??? Something is seriously wrong here. How can a customer EVER schedule with your company with any confidence at all? Please tell me you understand that if you can not fulfill your contract agreement you don't honestly expect the customer to just push back a move a day or two or become responsible to chase down equipment in another state? That is totally unbelievable, and unacceptable. I hope this lands in the hands of someone who can explain this situation... if there is no resolve to this I can assure you that I will never ever even consider U-Haul again. Lastly, I should mention that the GM who was in charge of this store or area or whatever, did offer an extra two days at no charge when she helped me lock down a truck 130 miles away literally hours before the scheduled pickup time... but I ask you... how does THAT help me??? The move is meticulously scheduled for a load and unload. Who does NOT work like that when moving??? So what good in the world would the extra two days at the end do me? And oh by the way, that extra two days cost me more for the insurance I elected to take (since it appears the insurance is charged by the day). Seriously NOT a good experience.

Usually in the past the U-Haul trucks that I have rented were very clean. This one the truck was dirty inside, information was left from the last user and the back was not swept out. The staff at Pine Ridge was very helpful though.
