The equipment was unsafe and caused damage to my vehicle and could have caused a major incident. I was lucky that the equipment didn't cause more issues. Very disappointed

The owner Johnny is a complete Ass to deal with. He is rude, condescending and arrogant. The truck was 2 quarts low on motor oil, upon pick up, and was several thousand miles over due for an oil change. The front wheels were so out of balance that at 55mph the front end shook so violently that it would unlatch the hood latches and the hood would fly up. I had to stop at a truck stop and buy bungee straps to hold the hood down. The drivers side seatbelt did not function properly. Also the truck pulled to the right tremendously. If at anytime you took your hand of the wheel the truck would instantly swerve off the road.

Arrived at drop off facility and there were no employees on site. There were 2 customers waiting ahead of me and 2 more arrived in the time I was there. So when employee returned it was very busy for one employee. He did his best and was very apologetic for the delay. I was informed that that facility did not have cash to issue my deposit return. I was connected with the owner who stated that I would receive a check in the mail for my deposit. He then asked me if I knew I was supposed to return the rental by 11:00. I told him I was not aware of that but that i was told that I had to have it back by closing. Which this facility closed at 5:00 pm and I was there prior to closing. I have been charged an additional $20 plus coverage for an extra day. I did not keep or use the rental for another day. I had it back by closing. If I had known that I was paying for another day I would have taken it home and used it. As it is I was charged another day for about 5 hours.

I didn't really find the staff to be friendly or welcoming from a customer service standpoint. They were good with helping load the trailer. It was probably the dirtiest unit I have ever rented. The floor had dirt and something splattered on it from several trips and hadn't been cleaned for some time. The outside would turn your hands black if you touched it. And the staff tried to shame you into buying the insurance even to the point of saying "If you have any trouble with the unit....well you will figure it out since you declined coverage". I will not come back to this store unless it is necessary because no one else is open!

The self checkout process is straightforward if not a bit tedious. The only point I would be careful about is checking the vehicle for damage. That part made me a little nervous and I spent a considerable amount time ensuring I looked at every square inch of the vehicle.

Tell people about the mandatory $10 insurance waiver. If someone is renting a pick-up for 2 hours and it advertised for $19.95, $10 mandatory charge is ridiculous. Poor communication that feels like deception.

I was told at pick up that I might receive a refund of some money if I returned the truck before the end the four day window. When I asked about this, I was simply told I would be receiving an email from U-haul. I guess the answer to my question is no - there is no refund.

Let the customer know that he can book the vehicle for more hours than necessary to avoid returning it late. If returned before rhat time, then the final charged hourly rate will be less than the estimate provided to the customer, potentially resulting in the amount being taken from the account less than what is being held form your account during your use of the vehicle.

They had a lot of trucks available but they gave me a truck that had a broken gear indicator he said you just had to count the clicks. well the clicks were not that pronounced and i believe i drove across town in second gear until i realized the i wasn't in drive. That needs to be fixed

I'd expand the location. Talk about busy! I felt bad for the poor guy who had to try to take care of everyone. Bigger location, another employee or two. Equipment was in excellent shape, though cargo door would not stay up by itself.

The vehicle (15footer) i rented did not have an operational engine drive indicater. you could shift from Park to Neutral to Reverse/drive, but the actual indicator on the truck did not move. It made it difficult to know which position the transmission was in.

Parking was not clear: it seemed like all the spots were full, but since there weren't parking lines, I couldn't know. I had to squeeze in on the side and hope that parking there was allowed. Additionally, the drop-off box called for a copy of my contract along with the key. At no point in my U-Haul experience did anyone tell me that this would be needed. Thankfully I called U-Haul Customer Service and they told me I didn't need to provide my contract. Please make it clear at the start if a copy of the contract is required to return the U-Haul afterhours.
