I’ve been using uhaul for YEARS and have NEVER had an experience like the one I had today! This place no longer needs to be affiliated with the uhaul franchise as it is doing a major disservice to the franchise. Michelle is the name of the woman who assisted me today in picking up and dropping off my rental. From the moment I arrived it was unclear where to go or what to do. I found the office by mistake. Upon meeting Michelle she was nasty, rude and raised her voice at me aggressively when I asked her to repeat herself. She acted as if I was interrupting her and not there to be serviced as I’m giving them money by giving them my business. Upon returning the car my mileage was at 2,504. I had parked the vehicle in front of the business because there was no parking available. She forced me to find parking even though it shouldn’t have been my responsiblility. Because of this I had to drive an extra mile around the neighborhood to find parking. When i brought this to her attention she sighed heavy and rolled her eyes, ignored me and charged the extra mile anyway. This place is disgusting, floor are making wood and tiles so unusual can see the concrete foundation. It’s packed full of junk and trash as if it’s abandon. And to make it all worse the service is completely awful! I would NEVER recommend uhaul to anyone based off this experience. That woman needs to be talked to about customer service and they need to represent the brand correctly.

Service was great but poor conditions of office space.

In order to get to the rental counter, I had to go through the garage and slide past several closely-parked vehicles. It was not a very welcoming entrance. The service was fine, however, and the van was clean and well-maintained.

Every thing was good

The customer service is very poor the contract was not explained clearly I was misinformed about the mileage usage

My reservation was at 9am and the person in charge of the reservation didn't show up. I finally had someone from the garage call their personal cellphone at 9:20am to complete the check in over the phone. This gave me a later start to moving then I intended. Although when I returned the van, the same attendee noticed that I didn't fill up the tank and recommended that I go down the street to fill up so I wasn't charged the crazy fees, which I really appreciated.

NOT A GREAT EXPERIENCE WITH YOUR SITE/TIMING/CUSTOMER SERVICE: I had a 9am reservation. The truck was there but the sign-in page for my account said there was equipment missing. Clearly someone didn't hit a confirmation button or something, or the site didn't sync that information quickly. I called the number provided for Michael Persaud, the contact for that location, but no one picked up or responded to my voicemail. I must have called a dozen times over the course of half an hour. My friend called the Uhaul 1-800 number and waited on the line while I called the location contact and no one from customer service ever picked up either. Finally the site updated and I was able to complete the registration process. The site worked fine for web-only needs but the order of how i was asked things in-person experience was frustrating. For instance, as the last step I had to walk all the way back from the truck to the auto shop for the key (street parking only) and had no way of recalling the truck number so they knew which key. That info should be the on the screen, and if I'd known we'd need to go back I would have told my friend to stay there. I live a block away from the pick-up location (closer than where the truck was parked in fact) so it should have been super convenient; instead I didn't get back to my house until nearly an hour after my reservation with zero help or communication from Uhaul. On top of that, I still had the same reservation deadline so I lost an entire hour from my moving time window. Considering there are companies like Car2Go that do this so well, the horrible customer experience was surprising and frankly overshadowed what otherwise would have been a delightfully convenient experience.

Your system glitched twice; during the check-in process at the point of payment it stated that the payment method couldn't be processed due to an error on your end, I tried a second time to input my payment method and received the same response, however after checking my bank account I saw that the payment had in fact gone through. I reloaded the page and my Uhaul account said that my rental was active, however I never received the code to access my key. I spent 30 minutes both on hold and waiting for a chat response, effectively wasting 30 minutes worth of my money before I finally got a response through the chat and got my key code. Then, during the return process, your page repeatedly told me that I could not send my location because location services were turned off, however I confirmed multiple times on my device that location services were on. I was unable to proceed with the return as a result, sat on hold again for about 10 minutes before entering the garage where the Uhaul drop box is located and received help from an employee there. I am not at all pleased with my experience.

When I arrived for my reservation, the truck was still out and arrived half an hour late. When I entered the vehicle, it was dirty from the previous driver. After completing the move, I arrived at the facilities only to be rudely told by someone that he wanted me to move it across the street despite being told earlier I should park where I did and in a legal spot. When I walked into the location, the person in charge was drunk and sleeping at the desk (It was 8:30 pm). The following day, I received my invoice telling me I owed for gas despite filling it up more than enough right before dropping it off. Luckily, I anticipated this and took pictures of the gas gauge before dropping off the vehicle. After arguing with the front desk lady on the phone the next day and sending her the proof, she finally agreed to drop the gas charges but has yet to do so one week later. I will not be doing business with Uhaul again after this poor experience. I expect Uhaul to hold themselves to higher standards and keep their shops accountable.

Make sure trucks have air conditioning. I initially made reservations at another location, which closed a month ago, but I was not notified of this change, so I went to the location to find that it was closed. I had a deadline that day, so I had to pay for a cab to a new location. This wasted my time and money. It might help to tell customers if the store they made a reservation at has closed.

Even though the place was little hectic and there were some mixup of vehicles, the staff was extremely kind and helpful. Overall very satisfied

This was a terrible experience. It took us nearly 2 hours just to get the keys because, not only does the technology for getting UHaul keys out of a lockbox not work well (we had trouble getting past step 1 of turning on location services, which is not necessary if each car has a unique identifying number), but when we finally got the lockbox open, there were no keys at all in the lockbox! We had coordinated movers, the person from whom we were getting the furniture, and so we had to cancel all of that, because the technology took so long and the lockbox was ultimately empty. If the owner of this location does not want to put the keys in the lockbox, then he should not have signed up his shop for being able to do transactions via a lockbox. It was a huge inconvenience to us, ruined our Sunday, and a move that should have take 1 hour at most ended up taking nearly 5 hours. After all of that, UHaul then overcharged us for mileage- stating we drove 14 miles when we did not. Will never use this technology again. Highly considering not using UHaul again.

It was the most unprofessional, disturbing experience I’ve ever had. From an employee peeing outside in front us people to not having all or the right equipment... I really should be refunded at least 1/2 of what I paid. I didn’t even get my uhaul on time

The truck was not physically in the rental location, and I arrived after hours, I didn't know where the truck was at first. It wasn't clear to me from the outset that I needed to go through the steps in the app to figure out where it was (on a street nearby). Also, the app only lets you begin to close your session when you arrive at the location, but there is no where to park at this location, only on the street nearby, so perhaps consider expanding the zone where the vehicle can be parked?

Kereesha was very nice and helpful. Since there was no lot, I had to find parking on the street which was inconvenient and time consuming. It would be better if you could just drop off and have them park the vehicle. The vehicles were new and maintained but not cleaned between rentals. Other than that it was a good experience.

Great experience with N&B New Horizon Automotive, but the U-haul app and website for retrieving and returning vehicles is completely unusable and utterly shameful and in shambles.
