I recently used U-Haul this past Saturday, and unfortunately, my experience was not a positive one. I specifically chose the mobile pickup option for convenience and efficiency, but it did not function as expected at this location. When I arrived, there was no immediate assistance. Eventually, a gentleman came out from a back door and asked if we needed help. At that point, I had already attempted to complete the mobile pickup process. It took three attempts to successfully upload my driver’s license, which was frustrating in itself. However, once the process finally went through, the key was not available at the vehicle as expected. Because of this, I had to ring the front doorbell multiple times (at least four attempts), but there was no response. The same gentleman later reappeared at the back door, and I explained the situation. We were eventually allowed inside, where we were told that the front doorbell was not connected to the office currently in use, and that no one would have been alerted to our presence. This was both confusing and inconvenient. Even after entering the facility, we still had to wait for the key to be physically handed to us, which completely defeated the purpose of using the mobile pickup option. Overall, the process delayed my rental by approximately 30 minutes. This experience was frustrating, especially since I have used mobile pickup successfully at other U-Haul locations where the key was accessible directly from the truck. I hope this location can address these issues so that the mobile pickup feature works as intended for future customers.
