We were told the wrong information regarding the rental rate at this location, and was charged double. Tried calling and emailing the location, no response. Had to call customer service to get it cleared up.

You exceed the expectations
Hard to get into the place. There are people on the street attempting to assist potential uhaul customers with their move and it was extremely difficult to navigate 15' truck into the lot with the layout
Simplify returns after hours. Sharing of location was time consuming to figure out. Also requirements to be there at return time was not pleasant. It is easier to take pictures and do the return after you leave the location specially at night and when you are tired. Also the requirement to have to create an account to do the after hour returns and above issues mentioned puts most of after hour returns burden on the customer. It should be simplified. The office had told me that if I do not do the on line procedure for the after hour return that they would charge me like 20 dollars. I was there almost 45 minutes trying to figure it out and finally got it done. For the average person not so technically can be overwhelming.
Mac (the counter help) was the best! He made the entire process so easy, which was very much appreciated.The return process was so fast and easy! Thank you!
Everything was great! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The truck was clean and driving it was easy.

The van was dirty inside and had clearly not been cleaned. That was disturbing in these pandemic times and frankly in unacceptable. The steering of the van was looser than usual. It was hard to drive at higher speeds. I have rented probably 10-15 vans or box trucks in my life and didn't like this one.

Everything was great and the service was wonderful but I was disappointed that I needed a credit card to rent a standard pickup truck and couldn't use my debit card or cash. I don't own a credit card and needed to upgrade to a more expensive larger truck. It would be great if a debit card or cash would suffice to rent a regular 8ft pickup truck.
There seemsnto be an attitude around things like parking availability. I had an issue and was told to speak to the manager, Nick. I stood behind another person that was being helped because the equipment he had served was not returned and had to send that person to another location. Nick did not acknowledge me for over 40 minutes while he was assisting this other customer. Nick seemingly going through frustrations in many ways. Life and business isn't perfect, but at least acknowledge people as they are waiting. Once it was my turn, there wasn't a greeting or "HI, here's our process". Overall attitude not just inside but outside employees were aggressive, where my wife was waiting... continually being asked to park a block or 2 away. Space is a premium but again its the approach and the lack of any courtesy that was shown. Tough business... need more space and better trained customer service protocol.
Make it so once you enter all the info. online that the check out is way faster. Only 2 people working. It took 30 mins. to check out. Other than that all went well! The guys in the yard were great!
A little busy during drop off. No one came to me initially,so I parked it at drop off station and waited till the next available agent. All good didn't wait too long. Agent Rod got me out and about in less than 10 mins
The text said to skip the line. The guy at the front seemed confused and customers were angry that I skipped to the front like it said.
The lot was cramped and not easily accessible but the crew helped and made the experience a breeze! Thank goodness for a great staff
Made my online reservation a month ahead and even made a trip to the location a week prior to confirm my reservation for a 26' truck. Like all badly run businesses, they didn't have my reserved truck when I showed up with all arrangements to move that weekend. They said their are "fine print" that allows them to get away with not keeping the reserved hour. They were willing to compensate me $50 for not honoring the reservation. All other issues with not being able to make my move with all the other ancillary planning was my problem. Now I looking for storage solutions to address them not providing the truck.
I did want to make a very negative report about the first location that I was assigned to pick up a van. The location is A Plus Storage at 2458 Newport Bl. Costa Mesa, CA 92627. The person there tried to rent me a van that showed tires low on air and then the check engine light came on and the van would not go into gear. The person there said it was not his problem because "he did not work for U-Haul and only made $14.95 an hour". He would not assist me and I had to find another location on my own even though I had no means of transportation. Very unhelpful and unfriendly person and not a reputable location for U-Haul to rent your vehicles.

Indicate online that a credit card is REQUIRED for the transaction. Have written instructions for those who are returning vehicles after hours. Enforce COVID-19 protocol by asking customers to social distance as well as enforcing those protocols as an employee. Would have been nice of an employee to instruct us on how to use the basic functions of the truck and also told us what gas the truck used.
