The manager I worked with was attentive and hard worker. He is so much more customer friendly than previous people I have worked with in the past. The location is very poor with little space.

The rep welcomed me to the store when I approached the counter, as he was still taking care of a customer. When he was working with me, he welcomed a person to the store behind me. That's pleasant. He was knowledgeable and courteous. He got me going in a short period of time. The only suggestion I offer is return space after hours was full. I returned the trailer at 12:24 am Sunday, and the rep told me to make sure the wheels were blocked in the return lane. The lane was full, the lane/space to the west of that lane was full, and I had to move the tongues of two trailers that were not returned to make room for me to carefully back in to return the trailer. This mean I had to navigate in both lanes of Douglas Avenue with my flashers on...not the easiest to do...and, I had to scrounge around to find two rocks to use a chock blocks for the trailer before I unhooked. Maybe it was unexpected, but I walked around the back of the building and there was open space between the south side of the building and the row of equipment back there. Either have a sign to pull further around the building or make more space with equip not yet rented. I don't think anyone else had much of an issue but me, but I don't think there was any more room left after I parked the 6x12. If i wouldn't have had room I would have had to somehow get the trailer on the north side of the building where I don't remember if there was access from the adjacent street. Not a huge deal, but after filling that trailer a couple times with furniture I was not hardly up to the task of getting creative to park it. Not criticizing just offering a suggestion. Thanks.

We would recommend the location because it was clean and the employees were friendly but not U-Haul. At this time we do not plan to ever rent from U-Haul again. We were not advised that the doors on the vehicle had been programmed to automatically lock. We contacted U-Haul roadside assistance and got the vehicle unlocked but at a charge of $49. We were told the $49 would be refunded to us if we went back to U-Haul of Urbandale today. We went back to the location today and the refund was refused. Also we were not advised that that the vehicle needed to be returned with the same amount of gas as it left with. If we had not called to confirm whether or not we needed to put gas in it we would have been charged $3.50 per gallon to fill it up even though it didn't have a full tank when we picked it up. Enterprise clearly explains this when you rent from them.

I was contacted about my pick-up promptly after ordering online, however I was not told of the location over the phone. I was under the impression that I was talking to a representative from Ankeny as that is where I had selected, only to find out the next day by confirmation email that the trailer was actually 30 minutes out of the way in Des Moines. This ended up changing our timeline by quite a bit. On top of this, we were charged for 2 days when the attendant we talked to told us that he would leave a note to reimburse us for 1 day since he had already turned off the computers for the night. This lack of communication has created a lot of extra work for us and has not been appreciated.

Although I was there 2hrs ahead of my return time and the guy saw my paper work as another guy was at the vehicle with a scanner, no one signed my paper work, they unhooked the trailer got a dolly to move it and NO ONE ckd me in on the computer until days later and I had been notified by uhaul that it wasn't returned. They said someone would call me and let me know it was ok. After two more phone calls and no return call, I had to drive back to the location take a picture of the trailer setting on there lot and go I and tell them to fix the situation!! Then when he did he put that day's date on the paper work! I had to insist he write somewhere that it was returned on time. Then he did! A total waste of my time for no reason!!!

It was marked at abt 1/2 tank of gas but really had less than a quarter of tank for 1... Plus the woman I talked to on phone mislead me & told me I could drop off at other location but when tried it would've cost me $248. More. I was treated well picking it up but everything else was disasterous!

Better communication. I was told I had the tow dolly for 3 days, but when I dropped it off, I was told I only had it for 1 day. It was turned in on time, so it wasn't a big deal, but when I checked my rental agreement, it said 3 days. Left hand doesn't seem to be talking to the right hand.
