I was transferred to 7 different U-Haul places trying to rent a 10 foot box truck. They did give me the 20 ft box truck for the same price which was nice but I had to go out of my way to pick up the truck and I had to do most of the legwork to confirm the reservation and pick up details. I was charged $10 extra for gas because they said we didn't fill it up enough which we did. I asked not to be charged but it was too big an ordeal to fight at the time.

Denise Hovarter is a ROCKSTAR!!! You need more people like her working for you. I was late arriving to pick up my rental which was cancelled due to my tardiness. She went ABOVE and BEYOND in finding me a trailer that I needed for moving my daughter's furniture to her apartment for college. I will ALWAYS come back and rent from her. THANKS A MILLION DENISE!!!

Upon being turned away after acquiring about a truck at this location on site, I called what I thought was a different location to see about an available truck in my area. I was promptly informed that if I could get to the Coldwater location in the next fifteen minutes, they had the exact truck I was in need of. The location I had JUST been turned away from. My smile and joyful attitude very rarely becomes effected by the hate and deceitfulness of others, but I must say, this was a disapointing trip. Never recieved an apology, let alone a smile or special offer for my complete waste of two hours at this ONE facility. Would not recommend.

Pricing should be clearer I rented a box trailer and there overall price was way more than expected. I seems like it is a secret. There's one price up on the board. "STARTING PRICE" this tactic is not very trust worthy. I was lured to try this instead of box truck to save money and only saved maybe $40 and lost half the space. There is too much room for price gauging.

Very courteous and the truck was to standard. I drove the truck a total of 15 miles. I put $5 in the tank even though the gas needle did not move from when I took possession of the truck earlier this morning, however I was charged $18 for fuel. It’s not worth the argument because I’ve been moving all day and I’m tired as is. Also I should have waited to turn the truck in and spoke with an agent, but again I’m sweaty tired and have a lot more work to do so I’ll let uhaul get over this time. And I saved a ton of money versus hiring a moving company. But lowball move by uhaul for $18 worth of fuel, I won’t be visiting that location ever again I respect decency and integrity!

As big as Uhaul is they should have equipment to supply customers full needs. Not put customers on hold for a week because the have to equipment available but same size trucks stay on lot, new equipment not old. Then when the West Virginia dealer promise 50 dollar refund not there. It was supposed to be 50 on two different jobs. Better off paying a lot extra for available equipment. I was a loyal customer and x employee.

OK this is a bit confusing but here we go- I did have a U-Haul rental with pick up the day prior to scheduled pick up for this reservation. I did hear from U-Haul about the first reservation, but did not hear anything in advance about the second reservation. For that reason when I picked up the first reservation I asked that the location be changed to that location. She was easily able to do that for me, but in the middle of the night U-Haul switched it back to the Glenbrook location. Luckily she called me from the classic car location to ask if I had switched it I said no she called and found out that someone at U-Haul had switched me back and rented out her trailer to someone else. So I don’t know if the confusion was having two rentals back to back one on Friday and one on Saturday or what. But essentially the Communication on the second rental was lacking. In fact I recall something about a $50 guarantee if you all did not contact me the 24 to 48 hours leading up to my rental. I really didn’t have any communication leading up to the second rental. The first one did go as planned however. Essentially everything did go off as planned in that I had my trailer type for both rentals, It is just that the communication on the second rental could’ve been much better. Overall happy with rental experience??.

i chose self check in. one step was to have a uhaul rep call a contact to verify. i didnt expect this step, and knew of no one that would answer a call from unknown number right then. i asked the rep about what i do if i had no one at the moment. she said i could rent then. and promptly ended the chat. i had to go inside and complete check in. GM was very helpful but it was upsetting to have this happen. unless i missed something, it would have been nice to know that i needed a contact person well in advance of check in.

The d-rings on the motorcycle trailer need to be larger and solid one piece d rings. One broke during use and a 30 thousand dollar motorcycle all but fell over because of cheap d rings

The amount of time spent in line could definitely be reduced. I rented a truck from 3:30 to 6:30. I didn’t even get to the cashier until 4:10. Granted, the team shouldn’t be blamed for the customer problems. But if I were a popular business owner, is definitely have more than 2 people working on a Friday afternoon.

Rented a 15 foot moving van and a tow dolly for a relocation from Indiana to Arizona (Contract #90870698) The actual mileage driven was 1871 miles. The U-Haul contract was written for and charged for 2165 miles. An overcharge for 294 miles NOT DRIVEN at a cost of $117.60 + taxes (294 x $.40/mile). When I turned the truck in at the U-haul in Sun Lakes AZ, I tried to explain this to the agent and was informed that U-Haul doesn't issue refunds for mileage not used. I pointed out that if I had gone over the 2165 mileage allowed, I would have been charged an additional forty cents per mile. Didn't matter to this agent. No refund was issued. I called the Fort Wayne location where this equipment was rented from and got the same response and run-around. They told me to call the U-Haul Corporate Customer Service number. I called the corporate number on 7/23/2018 and spoke to an agent who identified herself as "LEYA". She took my information and issued Reference ID #1884805. Leya indicated that someone from U-haul would contact me within 72 hours to discuss this matter further. NEVER RECEIVED A PHONE CALL from anyone at U-Haul. I would still like a phone call from someone at U-Haul to discuss. You asked: "what can U-Haul do to improve for the next customer?" Answer: stop overcharging for mileage that renters of your equipment will never use. When there is an obvious overcharge for mileage, don't give U-Haul customers a hard time trying to recover a refund for the miles NOT DRIVEN. Lastly, have the common courtesy and professionalism of making contact with your customer when you say you're going to call them back..
