Two days before we were scheduled to pick up a truck, we were contacted to let us know that the truck would not be available and we were directed to a different pickup location: 105 BOUND BROOK RD, MIDDLESEX, NJ 08846. I was given advance notice and was able to get to the new location, so being sent to a different location was not the reason I am so dissatisfied. The problem was that the 10’ truck I had reserved and that was supposed to be waiting for me at the new location was given to another customer a few minutes before I arrived. The location is not an actual U-Haul facility, it is merely a business with a parking lot, so there were no other trucks available — not another 10’ truck or a truck of any other size — only the one I had reserved and that I was told would be available. We had one day to move my daughter, and this mistake wasted valuable time. How could they have given “my truck” to another customer? The attendant who gave my truck away did have the courtesy to locate a truck at another location, but the whole process ate up valuable time.
