HI Team - I am writing to formally dispute the charges on my recent rental (Contract #16301235) from the Metro Mart location in Halifax. I rented a 10' truck for approximately 95 minutes (7:00 PM to 8:35 PM) and drove a total of only 14 kilometers. While I expected the $19.95 rental rate and the $16.00 CDW coverage, my final bill of $101.77 CAD contains several erroneous charges that I am requesting be refunded: 1. Unjustified Cleaning Fee: $25.00 - I was charged a $25.00 cleaning fee despite returning the vehicle in the same clean condition I received it. Given the extremely short duration of my use (under 2 hours) and the minimal distance traveled, there was no debris or mess that would warrant this charge. 2. Erroneous Fuel Charge: $13.02 (8 Liters) - The invoice shows a fuel charge for 8 liters of gas. This is mathematically impossible for a 14 km trip, as it would imply the truck gets less than 2 km per liter. I returned the truck with the fuel level matching the pickup state. 3. Price Transparency - The advertised price of $19.95 plus the $16.00 insurance should have resulted in a much lower total. The combination of the cleaning fee, fuel charge, and the resulting tax hike brought my total to over five times the base rental rate for a very short trip. Requested Resolution: I am requesting a refund of $38.02 (the $25.00 cleaning fee and $13.02 fuel charge), plus the applicable GST/HST tax on those amounts. Attached is my receipt. I look forward to your prompt response and a corrected statement.

Unsafe truck with a broken mirror. The location was not open when I booked the vehicle at 10 AM. I thought I might die driving the vehicle and would like to dispute the charge. So many issues to write about. I had phoned to report safety issues and that I' am disputing the charges.

Amit HHonestly, this is the last time I deal with your company. We agreed on a price to rent the car for 4 hours, and we were an hour and a half late, yet you doubled the amount. This is fraud and deception. It’s not smart to write contract terms over several pages to the point where you need a lawyer to interpret them. And in the end, you added a fuel charge even though the price was supposed to include the distance. I advise you to make the contract simple, containing only two terms: time and distance.
BASSAM IThis location was short staffed and the pick up process was very slow. One person was managing our U-Haul, chopping raw meat at the butcher counter for other customers and answering phone calls in between. The computer system was very slow and wouldn’t load properly on their computer. I would not use this location again or recommend to a friend.
