Check-in was a disaster - couldn’t “find” my paid reservation - keys took nearly 45min to get from lockboxes (had to go through all boxes and retrieve them from a pile of keys in returns.) Truck DID NOT HAVE ANY OF THE MOVING MATERIALS I PAID FOR - agent told me “not my problem, you booked self-service and we simply don’t have those things in stock”. Truck had two uninspected, dangerous tires: front tire had a gash showing exposed threading and back had a nail in the wheelwell that was losing air from the moment I got the truck. Not to mention was parked in a homeless encampment with human waste everywhere around the trucks. I then had to spend 3+ hours playing messenger between roadside asst, UHaul care, and the local tire shop to get tire replacements approved. All the while, not one care agent had autonomy to rectify any of the issues I have had during this experience. I am still awaiting a call back from a “regional” manager to refund me for the materials I never got and hopefully make this right or I’ll be using a competitor for my next move.

Horrible experience. Not worth my money at all. Too expensive for such a ghetto place.
Claudia AUsing the online app was a little bit clunky but navigational. The biggest problem was after I got the key, the truck was nowhere in sight. The online agent was useless and directed me to drive 6 miles to Double R Auto. Luckily, there was a woman, not associated with U-Haul, entering the main door (which is always locked) and was able to assist and direct me to a parking area two blocks away. There was no sign on the door where to locate the truck, no number to call for help. I spent 30 minutes unnecessarily trying to figure out where the truck was. The experience could have been so much better with a sign or a number to call.
BRETT K...Double R left me with vague feelings. The 'store front' is a door, then a stairway to a hall w/ multiple unmarked doors. We were advised to find street parking anywhere... Improve noir. IT WORKED. Relief when next day I received the email receipt from UHaul that my account was complete. The personnel were very accommidating [at closing hour]; the location saved me from searching for and probably suspending the truck return for next morning. ..... I am grateful to have undertaken the Double R service and WOULD do it again. Very entertaining. Just needed to adapt my expectations. Unfair for me to say. They could rate Excellent in our metro world, I wouldn't know. The UHaul procedure / oversight won out. What fun. John
JOHN WTerrible customer service. Almost got cussed out over the phone when I called to get directions on how to access the keys. I understand it’s 8am in the morning on a Saturday but honestly it’s unacceptable customer service. At some point the gentleman told me to leave and find another place to get a U-Haul. At no point did demonstrate the same behavior to the gentleman over the phone or did I allow him to ruin my day. Moving is already stressful and he definitely didn’t make it any easier on me.
