To Whom It May Concern, I am submitting this complaint regarding a series of service failures tied to my reservation made in early January for a 15’ truck pickup located 0.5 miles from my residence in Louisville, KY. On Feb 1, the day of pickup, U-Haul changed my location to a partner site 6.3 miles away that did not have my truck. This was the first failure: wrong pickup location and no truck at the assigned site. Then, customer service then sent me to another site 13 miles away. This was the second failure: customer service rerouting that directly caused excess billable miles. I planned this trip with precision, and it was unfortunate to encounter such inconveniences. Additionally, my rental was delayed because my account was flagged due to an emergency contact’s debt, which is unrelated to me as the renter and required correction during my move out of state. This was the third failure: an account hold error due to third-party debt. At drop-off, I was also asked to pay an additional $13 for fuel despite returning the truck above fuel level shown at pickup. I provided time-stamped photo proof of the before and after fuel gauge, and the clerk removed the charge. This indicates an additional documentation error during the return process. These combined issues significantly delayed and disrupted my scheduled move from Louisville, KY to Atlanta, GA. This was not a local errand; this was a long-distance move impacted by reservation failures-- despite the booking being made a month in advance. Went over mileage by 16 miles charged for it even tho I returned the truck with an entire full tank of gas. Gas coast me $184 they would not waive the fee very unhappy about it just on the principle won’t use again unless they refund me for the mileage
Kathleen LWe couldn't find the location at first. The door was locked and no employees were around so we could return the truck. There was no doorbell or anything. Very unprofessional. When we dropped the key off in the box we took photos and a video of us dropping it in with the identification numbers showing to cover our behinds if someone tried anything. We even dropped it off at least 30 minutes earlier than originally scheduled. 2 days later I get a phone call and 2 emails stating I did not return the truck. The employees clearly did not see the 10 foot uhaul box truck parked directly in front of their building and did not look for the key in their drop box. They tried to get me for a non-return of equipment. It was not Uhaul's fault it was the self storage staff. Plus, they have cameras on the property. Absolutely disgusting behavior! If I need to rent another truck, I will NOT go to this location.
