I made a reservation online for a 20' truck and was sent the address for a different uhaul location than this one. When I showed up, they notified me that there were no 20' trucks available and sent me to this location for a 17' truck, which luckily was big enough to get the job done. Uhaul notified me that I could return the truck to any location for my one-way trip, which I did. They later called me with a specific location for me to drop off, which was confusing. Be sure to get the story straight from them before you rent a truck!

If you advertise with a $19.95 a day rental fee and at the end of the day stick the customer with an almost $90 bill, you are not going to get a good review. We stayed in town, Returned the van with the same amount of gas required, went 1 mile over the estimated mileage and were told multiple times by the U-Haul representative that rented us the vehicle that if we did an after hours drop-off, it would NOT result in an extra rental day being charged to the credit card. We dropped off the vehicle the same day, but after closing (7pm, we returned the vehicle around 10pm) and when I checked in on my phone, per the U-Haul after hour instructions, I was charged $89, including an extra days rental. This is not acceptable. We were lied to by a U-Haul employee and while we took great care to follow all instruction, we were penalized for it. I expect this to be fixed asap. I am greatly disappointed and expect U-Haul to address this asap.

You tried to charge me for overfilling the gas. The gauge in the truck was faulty so we were unable to fill the right amount. Hence we overfilled and asked for a refund. The guy at the office said U-Haul don't refund overfilling which is beyond comprehension. I came away from the experience feeling your company and its policies are cheap and you have little regard for the customer. Seems like you're volume business model is set up to railroad customers. Your company and brand were at fault. The gauge was unreliable. I overfilled 10.00 dollars and you Nickle and Dimed me to 5.00. Not a good look. Do you care?

Cleanliness. The rental truck had trash in passenger door left over from the last renters. More importantly, customer service was a complete nightmare. After attempting to make a reservation U-hauls customer service was unable to place our reservation due to U-hauls deficient system. After multiple unsuccessful attempts, we were told it would be best to do a walk-in at our Hollywood location (where we had been trying to reserve a truck over the phone). Frustrated from the unsuccessful reservation over the phone we drove down to the location for a walk-in. Unfortunately, once our order was finally placed the employee failed to inform us price differences for various drop-off locations. She simply asked us which location we wanted to do the drop it off. Like anyone else would we picked the closest location to our moving site. By choosing this drop off location it left us paying nearly double the quoted amount that we had gotten in e-mail and over the phone (over 6 times). We promptly called U-haul's customer service and manager at the Hollywood location. Customer service did not follow up with my complaint report and the manager was extremely rude and unhelpful. Rather than the manager attempting to help us she decided tried to blame us for the overcharge and that we would not be receiving any refunds or have a decent discussion regarding the overcharge. After calling customer service and the Hollywood location for a week straight the manager still wouldn't hear what we had to say. She basically told us "Tough luck." Finally, after a week and constant attempts to fix this overcharge she reluctantly refunded us $200. I am completely unsatisfied with this experience at u-haul and the final refund. A full refund should have been placed, as well as an apology from the Hollywood location for the overcharge and unprofessionalism.

We were returning an out-of-stat e rental. I was apprehensive about returning it to this location after reading they're very poor reviews online. I will say that the lady who looked it over on return went over it with a very fine tooth comb; we got the feeling she was looking for something to charge us for. However, and much to our surprise, again based on reviews on this site, we were not charged anything additional when we turned the UHaul in.

My only complaint is that my check engine light came on in the first 50 miles of a 450 mile drive. Thus I was a bit stressed out but the roadside assistance was helpful and made notes of my situation.

Because I went on the second to last day of the month in the morning checking in took quite a while as there was a line. I think there should be a separate line for people with a reservation and people without. Most of the hold up was people trying to get a last minute truck which the employees were trying/ doing very well to accommodate it just was much slower than pre-reservation people.

I will admit being nervous about the place when it came to wrapping up the charges. Mostly, I just couldn't believe the deal I was getting. That said, I made them double check their figures, while I added them up myself. Everything figure was dead on and the crew for both day and night shifts were great.
