I explicitly and deliberately opted out of the Safe Move $15 coverage when I reserved the rental through the uhaul website. when I picked up the vehicle, there was no mention of anything specific about the rental except to verify the total anticipated miles. then I was handed the keys and that was it, I was on my way. nothing to sign, agree, or disagree with and no discussion of any sort. then after I turned the vehicle back in, I receive the final receipt and it included the Safe Move $15 change so I called Bloom Auto (the rental shop) and explained the situation as described above and they said they had no insight into the charge at all and said I had to call "traffic" at phone number 503-344-1339, apparently a different uhaul entity which should have insight into the details including this Safe Move charge. So when I called and explained the situation, representative Taylor put me on hold for a few minutes and then came back and said that she called the Blooom uhaul and the same person I had dealt with the entire day and tranacted with lied to Taylor saying that they explicitly asked me about Safe Move and that I agreed to the charge. That is simply not true. The question was never raised, the Safe Move charge was added without my consent, and both Taylor and the front desk person at Bloom refused to refund the $15 charge. I assured Taylor that I will dispute the $15 charge anyway which will cost UHaul an additional $35 from the bank just to handle the dispute, plus I will spread the word to everyone I know that Bloom is not an honest broker. The intentionally steal $15 Safe Move charges without consent, and then lie about it when challenged. I simply do not understand why UHaul would not agree in good faith to refund the unwanted $15 of a $200 rental that only lasted 3 hours (155 miles) in a single morning. I plan to go on a net detractor campaign due to this refusal to provide quality customer service and instead steal from customers and lie to coworkers about it.
