The self check in process took much longer than the in-store experience.



Vehicle reserved was not available upon my arrival. Paid everything online beforehand. Still had to process payment and do the paperwork in person. Agent onsite said he was just an agent and couldn’t do anything to help me. Agent said I had no reservation when I arrived although I had the reservation confirmation with me. Etc, Etc. Was promised a $50.00 Credit from Uhaul when I had to call them from the Huntley location. No confirmation of that being sent to me as of yet.

Parking lot was small and tight. Not sure how an unexperinced drive can drive through there, with the 90 degree turns right next to the building, especially on a truck that is 20 to 24 feet.

The whole process. I was told it will be 77. Cents a mile but then got charged $1.19 also I got charged twice. Ridiculous.

As good of an experience as moving could be! Anthony made the whole truck rental experience fast and easy. Their store had all the last minute moving stuff we needed, too.

Ripped me off on fuel surcharges even though I returned the truck full. As the receipt shows, I drove the truck 46 miles before returning it. I also have a receipt showing I refilled the truck with 3.4 gallons of fuel. This is in line with the trucks MPG. Then I'm not sure how the receipt can show I returned the truck with only 7/8th fuel left. Charged me an extra $13. I'm not fighting it because the $13 is not worth my time.

Nothing wrong with the locations of pick up and drop off, but more of an issue with scheduling. I scheduled an auto transport and specified my car make and model and said it was lower then most vehicles and to verify it could fit on the ramp. They verified it could and when i went to pick up transport and put my vehicle on the ramp it would not fit due to being to low and scratching up the bottom of my vehicle. Unfortunately had to leave my vehicle and couldn't take it on my move.



The brakes lights on the truck did not work. Parking lights worked, but the brake lights did not.

This U-Haul location was absolutely the worst, would never use them again. I drove U-Haul truck exactly 8 miles (less than 30 minutes) and they had the nerve to charge me $6.00 for gas. They read the gauge incorrectly before I took vehicle and made me pay for their mistake. I have used other U-Haul locations and never had a problem,. Totally horrible experience. They even tried to tell me that the vehicle was not clean due to 1 piece of grass in the truck, unbelievable.

The only issue I have with UHaul is that until the day before you have no idea of where you'll need to go to pick up the equipment. To be honest if I had found a company that had the equipment closer to my location I would have used them instead of U-Haul. For my next move I will be doing that.

Great experience, from reserving truck to pick-up and drop off. No problems, no surprises. First time using U-Haul at ANY location, and would definitely use this place if needed again.

Let me start off by saying, the staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. The truck worked great. These are my only two complements about the experience. Everything else was aweful. I originally called the U-haul in Sycamore, Illinois which originally told me hey would let me know the day before the pickup if one of their trucks would be in stock before I picked it up. The call never happened. The location in Huntley called me and told me that they had trucks in stock (never knew this was Huntley calling me). It took me showing up at the location in sycamore to realize I had to drive an extra hour to get to Huntley to pick up the vehicle. Once I finally finish with the vehicle (now in Mahomet Illinois), I show up at my drop off location listed on the receipt to drop off the U-haul, and I'm told the location doesn't accept U-Hauls and has never delt with the company. I confirmed the address that I was at the correct place, and left the building to be on a 45 minute series of phone calls to finally have my drop off location moved, again after confirming my drop off location was correct with the customer service agent (who also was extremely nice). I get to the new drop off location and after speaking with the person working at the location, U-Haul was attempting to charge me another fee for going over mileage, saying I have gone over my initial 166 mile allowance. Not only was the original amount I was going to be allotted more than the 166 miles the system was saying I had (originally I was supposed to have 205), my receipt also listed I was to be allotted 230 miles, both of these I was well under. I.E., the system said I was only given 166 miles to use, but I was actually supposed to have 205, but was given 25 extra miles for changing my pickup location. The person at the location was understanding and took this charge off of my account. At this point, honestly, everything has been such a headache that I'm never using U-Haul ever again.

Never used the truck yet they charge me for miles. Had to cancel same day due to unforseen issue Returned key to drop box Never opened the door to the damn thing. Company is a lying, cheating, scammers. Stay away. Contacting credit card to cancel partial charge.

This weekend was a disaster, which I may end up paying for. I have already spoken to many people at UHaul and the answers from the higher ups may decide whether I ever use you again. I feel I got no customer service, was charged extra for a day that I didn't ask for. I have lodged a formal complaint.
