This was my first experience renting from this U-Haul site. My reservation was from 5-7pm....even though I reserved online, arrived at 4:40pm, I was not taken care of until 5:10pm. The rest of the experience proved to be very efficient, and the staff were friendly. I will definitely be renting with them again in the near future.
I wish I was prepared for the long waiting time to pick-up my keys as I had to wait for over 30-minutes during check-in and another 20-minutes while returning the keys, which wasn't adjusted into my reservation hours. This made me more stressed out about returning the pick-up truck on time, on top of an already tiring and stressful moving day. Also, the pick-up truck wasn't in top condition as "change the oil" light was on, which made me a little nervous about driving it.

Always seems that if you need to go to the counter there's only one person sometimes two to take care of the long line and that one individual does everything from taking reservation to checking the vehicle to pick the keys checking the mileage so it turns out to pick up a vehicle or to return it sometimes can take 30 to 45 minutes of waiting and that's long however the app helps when it works
See complaint attached to this order. In short, make sure that dollies with known issues (as indicated by stickers and the team member's behavior) are not sent off the lot. Invest in full training for people who attempt repairs, and in training them to double check the equipment before it leaves the lot.

Charged $15 for gas when I only drove 15-20 miles
Hello! I have two questions about my charges. 1. I returned it on time this afternoon at 3:30, so I don't understand why I was charged for two days. There was a long line when I returned my vehicle, and the representative said there was a big backlog and it was okay for me to just drop off my key and he would later send the receipt to my email. 2. What's the $20 fee?? Is it related to the fact that I dropped off the key to the employee? He didn't mention the extra charge at all. I returned the van with extra gas in it and returned on time, so I'm really dismayed that I got charged extra. It doesn't make any sense. Can you help me fix this?? Thanks!
I tried to make a reservation on the website, I was then called by a representative who booked me a box truck for a different day than I had originally hoped for. When I went to pick up the truck, I waited almost an hour to be able to be seen at the desk. The guy working the desk was moving very slowly (especially considering how many people were waiting to be helped) and had an attitude of complete non-chalance. He informed me that I had a reservation for a pick up truck (not a box truck) and for half the time I had agreed on with the representative I spoke to on the phone. Since there were other people, no available alternative options, and I had to move out of my apartment that day, I had no choice but to accept the incorrect reservation. I was also double charged for the mattress cover I needed- once at the booking I made on the website and then again when I picked up the truck because he said it wasnt part of my reservation. During my wait in line (roughly 15 minutes) I saw 4 employees - three of which didn't have a mask on. They came back and forth through the lobby area where customers were waiting and one of them was also checking customers out (behind Plexiglas when seated, but he walked through the room 3 times while I was there). The only employee I saw wearing a mask had a name tag on identifying him as the owner. There was a large sign on the door indicating that masks must be worn. I hope that moving forward employees will wear masks.
Although there were signs on all of the doors that masks were required in the building, several customers and the Uhaul staff member inside were not wearing masks. The staff member who cleaned the truck was wearing a mask, it was pulled down so that his nose was exposed, making it useless. Overall, I am very disappointed that a business that serves so many in the community would be so irresponsible during a pandemic.

No staff including the manager who was there were wearing masks. This is completely unacceptable as they are dealing with students returning from across the country. It's also against NY law at the moment. This needs to be rectified.

Upon returning the rental I was told by one of the personnel to leave my keys in the truck and he would take care of the rest. Later, I receive a receipt via email with a charge of $37.50 for a refueling. This is not right! I returned the vehicle with at least a quarter of a tank as per the agreement. The fact that the personnel did not take the time to check out the return with me is sub par service and I must get a refund. I am not pleased with the service and the scamming. I've already talked to my credit card company to dispute the charge.
I needed to extend the vehicle for 1 extra day (7 day rental) due to unforeseen circumstances (COVID related). I was told that was impossible and that I must return the vehicle immediately or it would be considered a stolen vehicle. Mind you, I was paying for the extra day! They basically treat the customer like a criminal here. But it's the only place in town so I guess I'll be back if I have to.
I had a very negative experience during pickup. The 17' I reserved and already paid for was not there. I was told they overbooked and was met with a lot of complacency both from the employee and manager. I was only given a different truck meant for someone else at a later time due to my insisting that I needed something as I was moving out of town. I was given the larger truck, but then required to pay $76 extra. I have formally made a complaint to customer service over the phone and the ID for that claim is 2774754. I am requesting a full refund for the cost of the truck.
