I was stopped by the Ohio State Police yesterday morning as I was driving back to Lansing to return the van I rented. It didn't have rear lights! When the trooper asked me if U-Haul had checked it out before giving it to me, I didn't know. When I asked the personnel at U-Haul, I was told they rely on the previous customer to tell of problems. I was given an unsafe vehicle! This is unacceptable! U-Haul should check out vehicles before renting them to customers! There was also a problem with the headlights on a previous day, but the manual lights did work. Check out your vehicles! If I had been injured or killed, your liability would be astronomical!

The only problem was the sign said open the door wasn't working and the first employee I saw was quit rude he never offered to help me when he seen me he went the other way when I pushed the automatic door open he still didn't help me instead he went to a back room and continued with his conversation but the other gentlemen was very helpful he quickly helped me he came out and unhooked the trailer so I could be on my way.

I was told I would have to pay $1 a mile on top of the rental charge but never was told I would have to pay for the gas also. I think that’s bad customer service. The windows were all dirty and hard to see out of. If I had know that the gas had to be replaced I would have done it along my way back so that I didn’t have an extra mile charge to take it to a gas station after returning and get gas replaced. I was not going to pay the $4.50 a gallon charge they wanted. I think that was a little shady on their part.

Explain in better detail what raises costs vs keeps the given estimate accurate (i.e. using the dolly and that the longer you keep the truck the dolly pricing goes according to the days the truck is kept).

I did everything digital. I had 3 different times I had to fix because I wasn't informed about something. I ended up paying an extra 70 dollars because of not even being informed about anything at all. Like what the heck? It was more because of the corporate workers then anyone who works at the locations.

Generam Manager Michelle O'rielly said to extend was 700 dollars she was talking about Idk how much your rental would be Becuase we had returned it 4 days late. I stated that I talked to another location about my account and he told me it woild only be 140 when I brought it back and that he put in the computer that I was okay. I even called the main 1800 uhaul people spoke to steve and he said that he didnt know where 700 came from. Idk if she was tryna scare me but I told her my situation that I couldn't get my keys til Friday and I woild have it back that day.

Not very happy we dropped over at at 24/7 location was not explained very well on what to do so then I called and got transferred a couple times and then ended up talking to someone in a different state and while in the phone the person said it would of been cheaper to do a round trip then a one way Why was I not told that when I ordered feel like I got taken advantage of Lesson learned

I received a notice after I got home stating I owed $ for a toll, like $2.70. I would have appreciated knowing where that was as I paid for all tolls. All I could come up with is that I went to truck lane when crossing into Canada in Niagra but I wasn't informed by border agent so not sure. It would be helpful to know when going through Canada, that Uhaul's are considered with autos and rv's for correct lane, not truck lane. Thanks
