Have more economic fuel vans. I went only 32 miles and ended up putting $25 of gas in the vehicle when I returned it. That seems a bit ridiculous.

The Manager took 25 minutes to check the guy in before me. 25 minutes to tally up the mile? The other employee took 2 minutes to check me in. This isn’t right.

Great service and provided an upgrade at no additional cost when reserved trailer was returned late and unavailable. I’ve used Newington UHaul on several occasions and it’s always my first choice in Northern VA.

I reserved the truck hours before I got there. When I arrived I completed the necessary paperwork and a representative took the keys and said he would bring the truck right around. 30 minutes passed and my truck was nowhere to be found. I talked to another representative and he went on a search for the gentleman who took my keys in the first place. About 10 minutes later we find him sitting in a different truck just flipping through some paperwork. Come to find out my original truck had a dead battery. After that was sorted out they finally got me into a truck and I drove away. When I came to the first stop light on my route, I gently tapped my brake pedal and in turn almost took out the car to the left of me. The truck would pull terribly to the left, the truck itself could barely make it up a slight hill under its own power, it had a severe miss at low throttle and low rpm, and it shook so bad I thought the wheels would fall off. Terrible place, terrible truck.

Reservation was for 2 days because I was willing to drop the trailer off at another location farther away. It only showed 1 day on their screen. Luckily I had my reservation email link that showed 2 days. They had to “give me a free” day to match my reservation. Not sure where the disconnect happened, but thankfully they were able to take care of me.

I moved to Woodbridge from Fredericksburg and I was given the option (for a lower payment) to return in lorton. I did not realize that this location was in north lorton/springfield/Alexandria area. It was pretty far from my apt and made it a hassle to return. Nothing against this location, I just wish I knew how far it really was!

The process is a little long at the checkout counter. If you reserve on line, the process should be more streamlined. The model should be based on National Rental Car's Emerald Aisle service.

The check engine light was on. The CSR checked it with a computer and said it was fine to proceed with the 4 hour trip. But, dang! Do y'all get how unnerving it is to see that for hour upon hour? Those "dummy lights" should be checked and cleared before giving the truck to yet another customer.

The Express Check In serves no purpose. After using the Express Check In, I still had to wait behind several customers who did not use Express Check In. My wait time was not cut in half. My wait time was probably longer than when I had not used Express Check In simply because there were fewer customers in front of me. I would expect using Express Check In I would get information telling me which lane to go to to retrieve my rental, allow me to inspect the rental and verify online, then simply take the rental. There should be no counter wait, especially behind customers not using Express Check In.

Waited over 45 mins to get my uhaul and i did the online check in. We asked if there was a moving blanket and straps in the truck we were told yes. There was none so we had to add extra miles to go to Home Depot. Extra miles we had to pay for. We were also told we could get a courtesy discount for being military. That discount never reflected on my statement. I don’t think the rental was worth it at all. We move every two years being active duty military and have used uhaul many times. I can honestly say until this issue is addressed you have lost a customer for life.

I will never use this place again I did what I was told I put insurance and didn’t receive my money back and nothing happened to the van I had then they said I went over my mileage I want an investigation to happen I took a video of the cargo van at the lorton location before I left because no u haul employees gave me the van or inspected it before they gave it to me I was given the keys to the van then told you go get the van you’re self now I’m not getting any money returned back to me I’m going to make this go viral

Well it wasn't very busy when I went there so I got immediate service. But I would recommend filling out the online profile and reserving using the website. It makes things go much quicker. My experience was a good one

Person in the lot had trouble communicating what I needed to do to drop off the trailer and the parking lot is not marked well to know how to get to the exits when entering.

Wonderful, and easy. Though I reccomend getting the website to give a ballpark price with taxes I had allotted for the 860 for truck and when I went in it was 945.00 it would be of great help to others to know the estimate price of taxes. Which I believe should be easy enough to do considering you pay the tax for the area of pickup.

Untrained employees that couldn't tell a truck from a trailer if their palmpilot didn't do it for them. Unbelievably unhelpful and acted like I was supposed to provide fixes to their lack of understanding about their own equipment, computer program and turn in process. Only pay your people the minimum- get minimum qualified people. Unacceptable, would not recommend to anyone. 0/10

The rental was great until I returned the truck and saw that I owed much more than I had previously been told. I called around 5pm today to extend my rental. I was told that I could return the truck late and she told me I would be charged 19.99, the cost of the truck. However I was charged for the truck as well as all the Dolly’s, and furniture pads I rented! I’m VERY upset that this was not communicated to me when I was on the phone with the employee. I feel like this charge is very unfair. I wound not recommend this location based on this, and would like to be contacted by a manager tomorrow please.
