Have more employees like Hen, this kid was phenomenal for his work ethic, presentation, and efforts to ensure customer service. I know good employees and management when I see it. Hen noticed the trailer I was renting had worn chains and needed a coupling and serviced it immediately to ensure I had safe travels and could be on my way. By far the best customer service I have ever experienced from Uhaul over two decades of being a customer. Best customer service example for this service industry I have seen.

If the intent of the mobile pickup is to speed up the time to pickup the truck then it failed. However if the intent of the mobile pickup is to push all the work onto the customer then it is successful but that provides zero value to the customer. Moreover, I still had to wait same amount of time and maybe longer because I needed to find the rental truck, perform the mobile pickup processes, wait in line to pickup the keys, and wait on U-Haul person to pull truck out of space because it was blocked in. Additionally, I ordered online 5 dozen moving pads, two dollies, and 1 furniture dolly. Before I left U-Haul I checked the back of truck and none of the equipment was in the back which required me to go back in and request the equipment. The U-Haul employee told me that I should have told him about the items but the items are clearly on the order with the truck. The U-Haul location did not have the furniture dolly which I really needed for my move. I was still charged for the furniture dolly. Additionally, the location did not have the 5 dozen moving pads available. The U-Haul employee had to pull them from an truck that had been dropped off which took a lot of time because they needed to fold the pads. When I finally left the location and got to the move site, I was only able to use half of the moving pads because they were wet.

I expected that the 15' truck I rented would have been washed, windshield clean, etc. That was not the case. At the end of the day (before I delivered the truck to the drop-off location), it started to rain. Thankfully, it was not raining hard, because the windshield wipers were ineffective. After less than 10 minutes, the wiper on the driver's side turned sideways. To avoid damaging the windshield, I turned the wipers off and drove the remainder of the way to the drop-off location without using the wipers. I believe a careful safety inspection by the staff at the pick-up location would have noted this safety issue.

We notified the drop off location of the difficulty with the truck. The drop-off crew was very dismissive and pointed out that we made it the full length of our drive without issue. The drop-off gentleman sat in the seat, wiggled the wheel from side to side a little bit, then moved on. We were very disappointed to see it drive off lot by another customer no more than 20 minutes after we had parked it in the return lane without additional inspection.

I got into an argument with the guy at this location because he wouldn't acknowledge that there is a disconnect in your process. I did the Express Online Check-In option but yet, I had to go in, stay in line (luckily there was no one ahead of me), and provide every single piece of information that I provided online. WHAT WAS THE POINT?! Your website should feed this info into the location's systems or not offer it at all.

First of all thank you for the u haul services. But you guys need to be more effective and centric in terms of database and scheduling and the people on the counter (they looks like they are either dummy or over smart (specially the Latino girl at lorton) the one who made my contract she is a ..... sorry could be more friendly and helpful that’s all. Well in terms of scheduling upgrade your system and make it one centric before u haul becomes #2 preference. For weekend invest more on resources - as you know everyone needs you let them have a pleasant experience. See I am not going to refer you guys to someone who moves I would first tel them look around for local first. Call me if you need more details. Thanking you yours frustrated customer for this time. I would have given you an excellent rating, everything went as planned. Equipment was clean and ran well, getting the vehicle was quick and efficient as well. My problem was that I was waiting in the return line for about 10 minutes to return the truck. Someone else pulled into the other lane. Two minutes late someone walked out and went directly to that person. I walked over and said I was there first. Although I heard (eye contact with representative and other customer) I was ignored and there was no acknowledgement or even apology that they screwed up. Customer service 101????

It is not clear, when you walk in the door, where / who's counter you should go to for help because you cannot see the workers; they are hidden by racks of tape etc. Maybe make a line clear?

The charge policy is a bit unclear. 1 environmental feee, insurance is too expensive. Gas tank should be full when pick up by the customer so that customer can easily fill it up prior to drop off ( sounds like there is a trick there). The guy who handled my transaction did not walk me to the truck he just pointed me to it, as I go outside I get lost which one it is. 19.95 per day, and I was told to return the truck in 4 hrs. Not good.
