When I arrived, there was a difficulty that had arisen with a customer such that the location manager was called away. He was also the only employee present, so our pickup was stalled for 45 minutes while awaiting his return. He did apologize for this and all was reasonably well. I proceeded to pay cash for the truck as well as a $100 deposit for having paid in cash. I was sent up the road a short way to where the trucks were parked and was told that my truck should be one of the first few-ish on the lot, but to just look for the ID number. The truck had not been cleaned in the front (there were client receipts from a previous transaction as well as a pair of sunglasses in the cab area), nor in the back where there were some slightly muddy spots. I would have complained at this point, but we were already behind schedule. The truck was scheduled to be returned the next day to another location in another city. When we dropped off the truck, we were penalized for the truck being dirty, charged a penalty fee for the truck being below a quarter of a tank, and our deposit was not returned. Come to find out, despite the fact that the truck was given to us with a quarter tank, as our contract indicates, and we turned it in with only a gallon or two short of a quarter (full well expecting to pay for the difference in gas at the indicated rate of $3.50 per gallon), we were charged for both the missing gas and a "service fee" which comes in to effect if The truck is returned at below a quarter tank. The gentleman at the drop off point did agree to waive the service fee and cleaning fee in light of seeing that the truck was given to us at a quarter tank (instead of full), since the contract had not been reviewed with us (he said he always circled the portion about the service fee), and since other people's paperwork was still present! He was exceedingly polite and helpful. He was not, however, able to give us our $100 deposit. On the receipt given by the pick up location, it was marked that we had overpaid by exactly $100, and had been given $100 change. Since the money was marked as change instead of deposit, we are now waiting, in limbo, to have our money returned to us. We have been told that the store will have to respond sometime in the next three days, and we will then be issued a check (no timeline specified) for our money when it was supposed to be given to us at drop off. We strongly feel that simple (though severe in consequence) error has been grossly compounded by the customer service process which results in our money being held hostage, as well as an initial pickup that was, in a word, fraught. I have left a message with the uhaul business in Millbrook and have yet to hear from them, and have also called customer service three times with the result being that I have been instructed to wait... The theme thus far has been "wait." Wait to pick up the truck, wait to resolve clerical errors, wait to hear from the store manager, wait to be returned

The first truck I received did not have working trailer lights. Makes sure the vehical are fully inspected and safe to drive.



Dan was a great help because due to traffic I was over 45 min pate picking up my rental. He called but I missed the call due to traveling and when I called him back he agreed to stay and gave me direction great directions to the store. I was already at exit 200 and he was off of 181.

The representative lied about how much gas was in the truck. We barely had any gas and was praying to make it to a gas station without breaking down. Also, representative was in a big rush which threw me off as the customer.

The parking lot is a little ways away from the actual office... they should let you know this ahead of time... had a difficult time getting truck and trailer over to parking area down the road and no where to actually park the trailer once we got there...
