David BThis correspondence serves as formal notice of several serious grievances arising from my recent dealings with your U‑Haul location. The conduct I experienced—particularly from employee Debra—raises substantial legal concerns, including potential breach of contract, negligent misrepresentation, and the creation and dissemination of statements that may constitute actionable libel. I am preparing documentation for escalation and am giving U‑Haul a final opportunity to resolve this matter before legal proceedings commence. I rented a vehicle on 8/28/25 and paid for the SafeMove insurance and subsequent rental extensions. On 9/4/25, I submitted an additional payment confirming the extension; however, I was never provided the required updated rental agreement. This failure directly exposed me to unwarranted legal risk. Despite my payments, I then received multiple voicemail messages from Debra indicating that the vehicle had been, or would imminently be, reported stolen. These threats were made without providing the updated contract, which I had already paid for, and despite my repeated attempts to communicate. Such conduct created a credible possibility of wrongful detention or criminal accusation. As any reasonable person would under these circumstances, I secured the truck in a safe public location to avoid being falsely implicated. Only afterward did I learn that law enforcement declined to categorize the vehicle as stolen at the time these messages were made. This strongly suggests that the statements communicated to me were premature, inaccurate, or unsupported by the facts. These actions may constitute negligent or reckless misrepresentation, causing significant distress and forcing me to divert my attention from preparations for my father’s funeral on 9/9/25. Compounding this issue, it is my understanding that Debra entered internal notes or statements about me that were materially false and that appear to have influenced other employees’ treatment of me. Multiple U‑Haul representatives, apparently relying on these notes, refused assistance, acted with hostility, and made presumptions that were wholly unsupported by my actual conduct. If these statements were indeed false, their dissemination within U‑Haul’s internal systems may constitute libel and may have contributed to reputational harm, denial of service, and discriminatory treatment. Additionally, my family continues to experience obstructed access to our paid storage unit at this location, despite charges continuing uninterrupted. If verified, this too represents a breach of contractual obligations and further supports the need for legal review. Please be advised that I am preserving all evidence, including: • receipts and payment records; • call logs and voicemail messages; • documentation of inconsistent or inaccurate statements; • witness accounts; • all communications related to storage access issues. At this time, I am preparing to pursue all appropriate legal remedies, which may include: • breach of contract; • negligent misrepresentation; • detrimental reliance; • damages arising from the creation or circulation of potentially defamatory (libelous) internal statements; • denial of service and reputational harm; • any additional claims arising from interference with storage unit access. U‑Haul is afforded the opportunity to correct the situation before litigation is initiated. I require: 1. A written review and correction of all internal notes regarding my rental; 2. Full clarification of the actions taken by staff; 3. Immediate restoration of storage unit access for my family; 4. Written acknowledgment of the errors and miscommunications that led to this situation. Absent a prompt and satisfactory remedy, I will proceed to pursue all available legal options without further notice
