We got no training on the truck equipment -- lights, wipers, etc. Worse, the horn didn't work nor the power steering. The lack of power steering made it impossible to maneuver in tight spots.

Bait and switch! More than a month before needed, I reserved a 15 foot for 24 hours and I called the store twice in advance to re-confirm all details and they did so. On moving day, they delivered a 10 foot. Furthermore, they did not advise that the rental terms had been unilaterally changed. At 7 am the following morning I received a hostile and threatening call from the manager (with whom I had dealt personally) advising that I was in breach of the rental agreement in that I had not returned the vehicle within 7 hours. He then advised that "during this time of the year, they only do hourly rentals". At the time, the truck was still fully loaded and did not have sufficient space for all items in that I was given a smaller vehicle. As a result, I was charged rental fee and insurance for a second day. In actuality I returned the truck within 23 hours of leaving their facility. WORST POSSIBLE SCORE FOR THIS LOCATION AND THE SECOND TIME IN A ROW THAT U-HAUL FAILED ME. ROYALLY PISSED. TOO BAD YOU'RE THE ONLY GAME IN TOWN.

The quality of the car transporter I used was surprisingly good. Well maintained and easy to use. The only issue I had was that my reservation return time was put into the system wrong and they were calling my looking for the trailer long before I was done with it. It all worked out and otherwise it was a positive experience. I will use U-Haul again.

My reservation was unilaterally changed without notice to me. The truck was not available when we arrived. We were required to sign a contract saying the equipment was in satisfactory condition without having opportunity to inspect the truck! Ultimately we were given an old truck with lots of visible damage and not in safe or goid condition.

I am very disappointed in the service I received from U-Haul. I understand this is a busy time of year, but I called 4 times to reconfirm that I was going to be getting a 20 ft truck for 24 hours. On pick-up day, I called to let the store know that I would be coming a bit later but was doing mobile pickup. The woman I spoke with said she would put a note in so they would not think I cancelled. When I got to the location, my app was not working. I went to ask for help to the man inside, but since the store was technically closed, and even though he looked up and made eye contact with me multiple times, he would not let me in or acknowledge my waves. Finally, I found someone outside who told me that no one left a note but there was a 26 ft van available and that my file said that was the size to give me. I asked him to confirm I had a 24 hour rental and he said no. When I asked him why my request wasn't honored since I called and reconfirmed 4 separate times, he said that this time of year is busy. I work in sales and customer service and understand wanting to sell as much as possible, but it is unacceptable to promise one thing and not deliver. What is even more unacceptable is to acknowledge that this is just "what we do". If you can't deliver what was promised, then you should tell the customer this. Otherwise, they will be like me and share this negative experience with people/not use U Hauls services again. This caused a lot of issues for me with moving since I live on a very narrow, one way, Boston street.

Apparently several customers did not return their rentals on time so there was a major shortage, or maybe they were just overbooked. A long line waiting with not trucks or vans left, your basic nightmare. I got the last truck. It took me 45 minutes to get it so I guess I should consider myself lucky but I feel very bad for everyone after me.

The vehicle had a strong "camouflaged" smoke odor. I know an attempt was made to rid the van of the odor, but getting rid of smoke is nearly impossible. Perhaps allow renters an option of smoking vs non-smoking vehicles?

I ordered a 10 ft truck for Fri Sept 1st asking when they opened. they said 7:00. When I arrived they told me my truck would be ready at 4:15 that day. Terrible news. They never said anything about a time to pick up. I stated when I made the reservation that I would be there at 7:00 as I needed to move early and would have it back by noon. Fortunately they were able to give me a Van but caused me to make 2 trips. Poor coordination on UHauls part.

Company policy needs to change relative to overtime rentals. September 1 - 65% of rentals in greater Boston have lease expiring. CAll it Black Friday for your company. We planned a local rental more than 7 weeks ahead, renting separate trucks each day - September 1, 2 and 3. Our Friday, September 1 truck was not returned by the previous day renter. Apparently, common practice for those who rented August 31 to move OUT, but couldn't move IN until September 1. Easy overnight storage of apartment furnishings. The penalty: $50 plus blacklisted from future rentals. Insufficient deterrent. Should be $500! Was major inconvenience to us, and to your local office which gave us the $50 back when we finished our move belatedly on September 2.

Your phone based customer service is absolute crap they were very unhelpful towards my wife when she was having trouble picking up the truck. Additionally the instructions for picking up the truck during non-business hours were severely lacking. That being said, the in-store staff seemed very nice.

BY FAR the most friendly, accommodating,conscientious, pleasant professionals I've dealt with in a long time--makes doing business with them a total pleasure! In my several rentals with them so far, their trucks (I've rented small and quite large) are ready to go and at the front of the line AT THE SCHEDULED PICKUP TIME (!!), and are impeccably clean, well equipped, well maintained, with terrific dual mirrors on both sides, great climate control, one or more USB ports and/or 12V outlet, etc.. Just REALLY good equipment. Though I travel pretty well equipped, they offer every conceivable moving aid--tarps, blankets, tie-downs, ropes (plus the usual major hardware for hauling). Mostly, though, I appreciate the friendly and conscientious service and attention to detail; they're just really, really GOOD! Even after-hours dropoff is a breeze. Thank you, Guys!

UHaul comment; not a comment on the facility. UHaul reservation process is a disaster around Moving day (9/1) in Boston. My reservation changed 5 times as well as pick up and drop off locations. Very un satisfying.

I went to this place thinking I could park my car somewhere but this was not the case. I was told hey sorry we have no parking available figure it out yourself. The part that bothered me the most was if you have my email and my phone number are you not able to let someone know hey we have no parking just letting you know. I wasted two hour going back home having someone taking me back to this uhaul place and getting my rental, mind you I was on a time crunch. One small gesture of letting someone know if there's no parking can go a long way of not inconveniencing someone. Be more mindful of your customers. I think I'll go with either Penske or Budget truck rental next time I have actually had a plesant experience with them. Even the previous rental I had from uhaul I had to wait a hour and a half to pick up my rental because the owner was not at the location so I could get the keys. His excuse was well I drive Uber at night so I woke up late sorry. You people are honestly a joke.
