We had booked a 24 ft truck for a move and then received an amended reservation saying that we only had access to a 15 foot truck. We were then told effectively " take it or leave it" as there were others waiting. The owner of the facility said that unfortunately the matter was out of his hands. Although he was nice, it didn't solve our problem. When we returned the truck ( a day early) we were still charged $11.25 for the 1.25 gallons of gas we were short plus the additional days' rental as it was two hours into the next "day". ( It was 5 PM). All in all, U-Haul is a poorly run rip-off but, when you're stuck, you're stuck.

I was charged $60 for being 10 minutes late. Understand that the onus is on me, but there should be a pro-rated amount. What a rip off.

The only thing I would suggest is finding a way for UHaul to communicate if the customer does not get their first choice on locations. I originally picked a location down the street from my home and did not know about the change until receiving an email from this site in Newbury about a time change. Please send an email confirming the change and consider a discount if you do make a change on location, as it did impact the flow of the day to drive 40 minutes to another site.

While the interiors were well maintained, the exterior was dirty (especially the windshield). I cleaned it myself.

I returned my rental on April 23 at 6:35 PM it didn't get logged into the computer until April 24 at 9:16 AM, this was conveniently four minutes after the time had expired so that I could be charged another day. I've called the rental location and I've been assured that this will be taken care of however I think it's more than a little suspicious.

I was not told that I needed to get to the location for drop off exactly 24 hours after I picked up the truck. So, since I could get a ride early, I did. On the other end, they were going to charge me for not arriving exactly 24 hours after pick-up (they did waive it). This was not the case the last time I rented and returned at and returned to different uhaul locations.

My billing was messed up. I was billed for two additional days AND the loss of a dolly. I tried to fix this with UHAUL 1-800 number and I got the run-around. I called the drop-off location directly, and they say the error was corrected. I hope it was. If not you'll be hearing from me. A very frustrating situation that did not have to happen. Very poor customer service on the 1800 number.
