I wasnâ€™t moving that far and I wish the customer service representative wouldâ€™ve told me that I wouldâ€™ve saved money by returning the trailer to the original location rather than dropping it off in Penticton . I couldâ€™ve easily return the trailer to the original location if Iâ€™d known it was going to save me more than half of the cost .

Kind of pissed off that I was unable to get a deal when truck was just sitting in a driveway for over 2 weeks because my place wasn't ready to move in. Next time I'm going to try using a different company

We booked the trailer in Penticton and had to drive to Oliver 45 minutes away to pick it up and drop it off. Not sure why they didn't tell us this on any of the calls we made to Uhaul. Wasted three hours driving plus gas. Not impressed. With that said, the trailer worked as expected.

I was not told of the deposit for the truck in my reservation, or in my communication skills with your company. I had to phone and ask about any surprise fees that may come up. They told me $100 would be necessary. When I picked up the truck, I was charged a $125 deposit. Why do those charges not match? Also, the gentleman running the shop did no inspection of the truck. He made zero effort to go over the rental agreement and highlight any pertinent information regarding penalties, damage, etc. I could go on about my frustrations with my experience, but I'll end now by saying I certainly won't be using U-Haul again.

I booked a truck for a Sunday, as the website said I could pick it up while the location was closed. Apparently this was not so, and the day before I was supposed to pick it up, I was called three times, directing me to three different locations. Luckily I had spoken to the owner of this location earlier in the week and he was willing to come in on his day off to ensure I had a truck for my out-of-town move. This was greatly appreciated.

More training for employees.....he didn't know how to process the gift certificate and I had to insist he try it, when it wouldn't work he was not happy and tried to tell us to work it out with head office later.... really had push until finally he dialed head office and gave the phone to me.....the Rep figured it out quickly with no further problem. The other problem was he told us to choose a drop off location...we asked for the closest one to our house.....we had to drive to Abbotsford....a 35 min drive each way (total of an hour and 10 minutes for us and another vehicle for the return trip) plus extra gas for both the truck and our ride home ---- there was a Uhaul in MIssion only 5 minutes away and we also passed another one that would have been closer as well. It was a long day of loading/unloading and driving so this was extremely frustrating for all of us.

The price was steep. Why not just have van returned with full tank of gas? Trying to gas it up to 5/8 only benefits you cause you know people will overestimate

When I picked the uhaul up at the Oliver location I was told that the vehicle was loud, very loud but not to worry and if any problems arise to call him back... the truck was very banged up and was clearly in several minor accidents prior to my renting it. If I was not in such a desperate and time sensitive situation I would have refused the truck rental. The exhaust was completely disconnected, missing two bolts and a bushing or seal that should secure the catalytic convertor to the front pipes. The noise of the engine due to the disconnected exhaust caused me to experience Noise-induced hearing loss by the end of the trip, and severe headaches. On top of that, about 3/4 of my trip I was pulled over by a police officer who was attempting to pass me, the officer informed me that u haul was not satisfactory for use in public roads (primarily I town or residential areas) due to the excessive noise. He informed me that the truck would need to be taken off the road until the issue was fixed but after much pleading with him and explaining my current situation he agreed to let me off with a verbal warning with the condition that once the truck has been returned to the uhaul agent that I was to inform uhaul of the current state if the vehicle and advise it be taken off of the road until repaired. The day after returning the vehicle I received a call from the agent at the drop off in Creston bc....she inquired about the noise and also informed me that I was going to be charged for additional fuel as when she checked the truck it was below the full marking on gas gauge. I sent her a copy of my bank statement showing 2 out of 3 purchases for fuel, the 3rd was paid cash, sadly I did not think it nessesary to keep all receipts for fuel as I rarely ever do and did not anticipate a call as when the truck was returned it read full. I would like a refund for the rental of the uhaul, not only did the truck not meet standards but also caused temporary injury to my hearing. Was supposed to pick up in Summerland. Was horrified that I was notified the day before that I would have to take time off work and take 2 hrs out of my day to pick up the trailer in Oliver. This is terrible customer service! I will do whatever it takes to never have to rent from Uhaul again!

The Oliver store and personnel were great ,the chap on the phone in Phoenix was great but the events leading up to it with not roadworthy equipment in Langley, no trailer in N surrey , , driving all over , continual emails changing drop off and pick up locations etc will mean that I will never use or recommend U Haul. The chap in Penticton should not have a dealership as he doesn't want to rent your equipment one way.

Make sure your debit machines work. Actually have a phone number and proper address you can actually find so that the customer isnâ€™t scrambling to find the location one day before their move
