Absolutely the worst experience of my life, booked over a month in advance at the Nanaimo location to pick up a 10 foot U-Haul to travel over to the mainland one way. The parksville location as well as the scheduling department changed my booking to a round trip back to parksville. Ash from scheduling is rude and should not be in customer service with her snippy and uneducated way to handle customer service. She didn’t listen and felt she was right while she knew she was in the wrong. I recommend that this person be reprimanded and be stuck on probation until she can learn how to deal with customers. On a positive note, I’d love to give Vivian from U-Haul Safeguard Storage in Nanaimo a 10 star for going out of her way to fix the ongoing issues that almost made me never want to deal with U-Haul ever again. Recommendations to go see her on your next moving needs. Also want to give a shout out to Stephanie Richard the Area Field Area Manager for listening to my story and automatically going to work to help me when I was at my worst and reassured me that she would take care of everything. She was absolutely a delight to deal with and saved me as a customer if I never need moving services in the future.

PHILLIP WMy initial contacting U-Haul included calling the location at 611 Port Alberni highway. I called once to see if they had a 15’ van and she told me they had one but to make sure I called back right away. I had to confirm my dates once I knew how much it was to rent the van. I called back 17 times, no answer. I then called 1270 Port Alberni U-Haul location, hoping they could look at a network to see if U-Haul was able to see all 15’ vans in the area and I asked if there was anyway they could look and they said no. I then asked if there was a way for her to communicate with the 611 Port Alberni location as they weren’t answering the phone? She said no and that sometimes she was too busy to answer the phone. I then called 1182 Island Highway East. The lady Sarah that answered the phone was very nice and booked a reservation at that location for a 15’ van. I went to pick it up yesterday. The lady at Arbutus Grove Motel had lost her voice and was using stick it’s to communicate. When I questioned or answered she would sigh at me and roll her eyes. She would slam the ‘stick it’ infront of me on the desk. I was very surprised that there was only 1/4 tank in the van. I was also very disappointed that on top of the mileage I was paying I had to pay for gas. When I received my bill I don’t understand why I was charged $2.07 for 108MI driven and $1.29 for 174 MI driven, when I only drove 174 KM give or take a few km’s. If you could explain that to me I would appreciate it. If I require the use of a bigger vehicle in the future I will try every other rental company instead of U-Haul. Yours truly, Very disappointed customer.
