We reserved a 10' uhaul over a week in advance to move our daughter into her college apartment. We were notified 1 day before pick up that a truck would not be available to pick up at the location near our home but that one would be available 30 miles North if our home. We arrived at the new pick up location in Picayune , Mississippi, at 1:55pm. 5 minutes earlier than our scheduled 2pm pick up. The building was locked, lights off. No employee in sight. We sat waiting until 2:25 before the employee pulled up in the parking lot. We told the employee that we had a rental scheduled. She attempted to pull our reservation on her personal phone but she said she was “unable to get enough service. She asked us what size truck we rented, I told her a 10'. She did not verify the name on the reservation, she did not check our license. She informed us that she had to leave to pick up her child gave us the keys for a 10' uhaul. Later that night, I received an email stating that our uhaul reservation had been canceled. We had the uhaul in our possession so assumed it was an error. The following morning we moved our daughter into her apartment in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. We reserved the uhaul with drop off in Hattiesburg. My husband had to be at work in Covington, Louisiana at 1pm. We arrived at the Hattiesburg Uhaul location at 10:20am. We turned in the key but were told the system had no record of us having the truck so could not do the fast drop off process. We were told we would have to get in line and wait for assistance. We were the 7th customers in line and only 1 person working. We ended up being at the uhaul location nearly 2 hours before we were able to return the uhaul. Needless to say, my husband could not get to work an hour and a half away in 30 minutes and had to give his shift away. The uhaul truck itself was in great condition. The experience was absolutely horrible. Between having to pick the uhaul up 30 miles North just to drive it home 30 miles, the 25 minute wait to get the uhaul in Picayune, the 2+ hours trying to drop the uhaul and my husband having to give away a 8 hour shift. Almost 4 hours wasted in an already busy day and almost $500 in wages lost. I am furious. We were charged $164 for the use of the uhaul that we rented to make the move easier but unfortunately, uhaul caused so many problems and really put us in a bad bind.

The office was closed due to Covid-19, but the handwritten note on the door was so faded that you could not read the message. I ended up just calling the phone # printed on the window. The inside cab of the rental truck was filthy (some type of sticky drink spilled on seats and steering wheel, dog hair all over and strong dog smell, the gas gauge was not all the way to full). I ended up driving to the nearest store to by cleaner and towels to wipe down the entire inside of the cab.

The trailer I picked up was wired opposite my car, so left turn signal on my car caused right turn signal on trailer to work and visa versa. Dangerous. It's not my car because my personal trailer works fine. Reported to pickup location and drop off location.

The representative didn't even walk me out to the truck for pick-up... she just handed me keys and told me to look on the truck for the matching number. The cab was filthy and smelled like cigarettes. The vehicle was so poorly maintained that half way through the trip a steer tire blew and the entire bearing came off. Then, the tow company that was dispatched couldn't get his truck started and it broke down again while they were trying to get the UHaul on the hitch. We were told a moving company could be dispatched to transload the truck for us but after waiting hours I received a message from dispatched stating “good luck finding a moving company on new year's eve” so we had to transload the truck ourselves. The same lady who left that message then proceeded to try to blame the wheel damage on us saying we overloaded the truck. However, the heaviest thing back there was a couch. There were ZERO appliances, just the couch, boxes, and a couple of mattresses. The wheel failure was due to poor maintenance, not the size of the load. I don't appreciate one of your customer service people adding to the stress of the breakdown by trying to shift blame away from UHaul onto us. It was in very poor taste and I will be speaking to my field relocation team about contracting with a different Truck rental company because of how poorly we were treated by your staff.

Staff was not on site at scheduled time. Put us behind schedule by at 40 minutes. That may not seem like a lot but when everyone has things to do it is a lot to be delayed.


Came into new town. Called to drop car hauler prior to truck return and that went well. Tried calling for several hours the next day after truck was unloaded to return truck but there was no answer. They finally picked up and said they had closed to go run some errands. Told me they closed at 5 but I could drop truck the next morning and they would check in when they got to work. Dropped truck and then at 12:12 pm received a text that the truck was due back at 1pm. Began calling Hwy 11 Mini Storage, again and no answer again. Drove by and they were closed. Saw my key still in the key drop slot. Called the U-Haul contact number on the text and the lady there was very helpful and made notes that truck was returned. I had taken a pic of the dash with mileage and gas gauge. Notes were made of that and was told when they did go to check in they would see notes from U-Haul. I assume they finally checked it in as I received a receipt with everything zeroed out.

I rented a trailer June 8th and was contracted on a serial number not in the system. My card was charged. When they got the contract fixed 3 days later my card was charged again. Over a month after my rental I still have not be refunded the initial $389 that was taken from my account!

My U-Haul experience overall was horrible. I originally called GoUhaul and they gave me a reservation for Sunday and the pickup place wasn't even open on Sunday, then the next reservation was wrong also. I think there were 5 reservations and cancellations in the same day because U-Haul doesn't know what equipment they have and where. Also, the Jackson MS scheduling station people are very rude. This was a horrible experience and I hope I never have to use U-Haul again!

It was fine


They where a hour late opening and then rented me a trailer that wasn't even there that took another hour I had to hook the trailer up myself and no one inspected it. I called back when i found out there was no ramp to see if they had one they said no they dont carry them i loaded the 6x12 trailer with light stuff since there was no ramp then went to budget and rented a truck a two day rental on a trailer i couldn't really use what a waste the cheesiest uhaul I've ever been to and will not be renting from you GUYS ever again
